🥔Bald eagles can be "Perch Potatoes".😁 They spend much of their day conserving energy, observing their surroundings, or just people watching.
🥚Jackie and Shadow have withdrawn from their unhatched eggs. We look forward to seeing their nest visits, adventures in the habitat and evening roosts.
On 4/11, one egg was broken and disappeared in the bowl. On 4/13, Jackie consumed at least one remaining egg. By 4/29 the last egg broke down. No signs of development observed in any of the eggs.
We have no way of knowing why the egg did not hatch. It could be environmental, such as temperatures, humidity percentages, oxygen levels at high altitude, etc. It could be biological with something just being off at the time the eggs were created. It is very unlikely that either Jackie or Shadow are infertile since they have already had 2 sets of chicks together - in 2019 and 2022.

Shadow is so cute the way he busys (bizzies?😊) himself while she eats. He needed a little feaking anyway. ❤
Mating calls? I'm no professional, but that weather hasn't done them any favors. It would be great if they learned to adapt to warmer weather to mate. It's unfortunate due to climate changes, but I believe wildlife will find their place in all of this. They'll have to for survival.

Jackie got the whole fish 🤣. Shadow fussed with the nest. Blaze of glory over Jackie so the fish was meant to be.
As always, the highlight of my day, when J & S honor us with a nest visit! I was wondering...does Jackie ever catch her own feesh? Shadow needs to dine "lakeside," then bring the feesh for J! 😉❤️🦅❤️🦅
