Rolling my IT kept me from knee injury, my quads and IT bands were so tight it began to impinge my knee and cause "popping", after rolling, pressure pointing( with lacrosse ball) and massaging (using massage gun) for a whole weekend my IT band and quads released and the popping went away as well as the pain.

I enjoy foam rolling: As a former massage therapist, I remain ironically and woefully negligent about getting regular massages for my own aging body; foam rolling does help relieve a lot of muscle and mental tension. And I think you have an excellent presentation, due to the inclusion of anatomical graphics. As I followed along with your instruction, I kept thinking that I would have loved to have a video like this for studying purposes in massage school: I could have reviewed muscles and their attachments, all while reducing the tension of being a student! Hey, there's a marketing idea for you as thanks for making this video:-)

I am going to start using foam roller because I am a runner (marathons) and some people tell me that is correcto to use it after a running training session but others the contrary, I mean, it is much better to use before you run. What do u think? Thx again from the sunny and lovely SPain.

Hello. I don't know if this will be helpful. I haven't tried foam rolling, but I have tried using a massage gun. I use it whenever I feel a cramp coming up or when my muscles are fatigued. I can say it helps with relieving that fatigued/cramped feeling. My mom also uses it and says it also works for her. I can see a massage gun being handy if you don't have the time/energy to move around with a foam roller. Though when it comes to relaxing tight muscles (like a tight IT band), I can't tell. I have no solid comparison between the two yet.

It's better to try and do both. Stretching helps prevent the muscle from getting tight after a workout, foam rolling after weight training is great for massaging the muscle to help break down lactic acid that builds up from working out :)
