As a runner who is training for a marathon, these foam rollers kzread.infoUgkx9XSsjzA4f84VmhBCHlyhec7XILIxennL are really good for sore and tight muscles. This one is a good size (mine is the purple, 36 inches) not too big but big enough to work and roll both my legs at the same time - I took a photo holding the roller next to me just to provide a better representation of its size. I noticed some reviewers who complained that this is, “just a foam noodle”… and yes, that’s exactly what it is. It’s a high density foam roller. It is absolutely NOT the same consistency/strength/durability/ or texture as a ‘pool noodle’ thought and I disagree entirely with those that say so. As a former collegiate athlete and marathon runner, I’m comfortably giving this roller 5 stars. It’s lightweight and durable and does just what I need it to do at a budget-friendly price. Overall, I have no complaints and am happy with it!

Imagine my delight, when suddenly, while searching for foam roller stretches for beginners, I discovered my spirit animals, Bob and Brad. Not only was the video super helpful with the multiple angles and actual spine (how cool) but I just like the vibe. Down to earth, funny, considerate of my time and super helpful. Also you have helped spread the important message of NOT rolling your package. Lol Thanks guys!

A tight hip flexor will cause a greater sway in the lower back, as his spine model demonstrates, but a person would be in a weird position if their spine was in the position he is holding it in.

I have too use a roll under my lower back. It's the only way to relive the pain. I have arthritis from the tail bone all the way to mid back. Actually I use the end of the bed and mattress, feet on the floor with a roll and have too have the pressure pushing upwards while slightly twisting my hips. I feel the hurt so good pain and feel the crunching and popping. When I'm done I feel like a new man and it last for days. I know you say not to do this, but man it works for me and I've tried all kinds of things to relive the pain.

First of all, love watching you guys. I couldn't use the foam roller with my sciatica at the beginning as I found it too hard and uncomfortable. One thing I tried at the beginning and it worked wonderfully is a Pool Noodle. I was able to just lean against it on the wall and push that way. Plus the advantage is the pool noodle won't scratch the wall. Imoprtant note, though, is to use the ones that don't have a hole going trough it.

At work one day I talked to ex-EMT co-worker telling him my leg was pretty numb and felt weird. He said loosen your belt but it didn't quite work. Then he pushed against the outside of my leg by my hip and said it's tight go buy a foam roller and explained what to do. Sure enough it was quite uncomfortable but not painful. Boy after doing it a lot in the tight areas it felt way better no numbness. He said that gets tight on him to. $14 to solve that problem. Now I used it on my back issues and they go away for a few hours. Best money I spent!

I've suffered with upper back pain since I was 18. I'm 48 and recently had a chest xray because I have asthma, and it showed degeneration in my thoracic spine, which came as no surprise. Luckily, I have found a lot of pain relief since I found you guys! You're awesome!

You two are so informative and have helped me so much. BTW your youtube show, you both, the dynamic between you two and your dad joke humor makes my back and mood feel so great. Have you toured the nation before? I see a book tour and a TED Talk on back health and finding the right treatment. Thanks Bob and Brad, much love from Northern California.

In case you wonder, at 5:00 when Brad had a disagreeing look it was because Bob showed us how the spine stretches instead of how the hip flexors pull the pelvis. Thanks for the video!
