The purpose of this commercial was basically like this. Nintendo games on the old systems, mainly the NES, were ridiculously hard. Because most people rented game cartridges, they made them obscenely difficult so you couldn't just beat it and return it, you would have to rent it again or buy it outright to keep playing. There's your history lesson for the day. This song goes so hard.

@@kevinknight3900that’s incorrect. the commercial was made for the nes, which absolutely dominated the market and sega was barely considered a threat to nintendo, or any company for that matter. it wasn’t until the next generation of consoles with the genesis and snes when nintendo and sega began throwing shade at eachover and began that iconic rivalry.

When Sega established it's rivalry with Nintendo, at that point there was already villains from enough franchises to use for this ad but no, the ffuckin Dog from duck hunt is one lmao

"We are Nintendo, you cannot beat us" has two meanings, they say this in the commercial this song is based on, it can mean that you cannot beat the old NES games back then because of how ridiculously hard they are, and it can also mean a jab to their competitors like SEGA due to their rivalry back then

The commercial slogan "You can't beat us" is both a ploy and referencing the difficulty of the old nes games. The ploy is luring them in new players to try and beat it. This goes with "We challenge all competitors'

the way at the end of the song (starting at 10:17) they widdle you down until you're one miss from losing no matter how high up you are at that point is clever as hell this mod is fire

I always will find interesting how from 10:17 onwards your hp just drains to 1, just so that the last 2 notes are enough to make you arrive at 50% in the end, making it a tie. MM showed us FNF fans that maybe clicking “retry” when we don’t win isn’t always possible.

I like to think that at 4:01 when bf mimics the "You can not defeat us." Duck Hunt Dog just looks at him like "... stay in your lane."

Its funny how this song felt the most intimidating out of every other song. Even though Bf is there to sing, it feels like a personal battle rather than watching Bf battle with Mario. Despite how infinitely powerful Nintendo is, the “YOU CANNOT BEAT US” being chanted from the commercial feels like a challenge, which is so great because it makes you feel so undefeatable for completing the “unbeatable” song. For the last song, the difficulty scaling in this mod is done really well.

Really the YOU CANNOT BEAT US just makes it feel so rewarding to US BEATING THEM

The specific little details in this song make me so happy. I love the fact that in the Duck Hunt segment, whenever a zapper blast goes off, BFs Icon VERY briefly turns into a white square, referencing how the actual Zapper worked. This song is already kind of crazy for existing at all - It's not every day an FNF mod will just randomly grab a creepy advertisement and make a banger out of it - But the fact that they did that while even staying faithful to the games referenced in the advertisement?? Good God, it's so clear that the folks who worked on this mod cared a ton. And that makes me happy!

What I like best is that they give themselves a score of 1 million in the end and we can't even reach that with a PFC, so we literally cannot beat them

The reason why this looks less terrifying than the ad is because they look more alive, you can clearly see how are trying their best to be "unbeatable" and every guy in the song have his own style, expression and lose reaction of you actually beating them, making the "unbeatable" beatable

This song and All Stars are likely to give birth to something of a wave of multi-"phase" songs, though others already exist like Triple Trouble, these are some of, if not the first to specifically note that the song is in acts rather than just with different characters.

Just the name unbeatable will keep you on edge, the rest just goes to show how talented modders are now. And that line, "we are nintendo, cannot beat nintendo." Is so damn cool. It was sure worth the wait for V2 I could not ask for anything more

I love how Unbeatable as a song remains true to both Nintendo and the commercial it was based on. It has the same creepy/old visuals the commercial had, but also still has the same uniqueness and overwhelming difficulty that NES games had at the time since y'know... easter eggs: in Mr systems part (level one), you can faintly hear a startup modem in the background. duck hunt dog uses his bark sound in some parts, along with the quacks of the ducks i the background bowsers part sometimes uses sound effects from the super mario bros nes game, like entering pipes, (i think bowsers fire spitting?) and the caste theme.

It's really impressive how faithful this is. FNF fans are pretty dedicated
