FMS Corsair 800mm - Long talk and flights

I expected the FMS Corsair to be as uneventful as the other FMS warbirds but I was wrong.
Inside my FMS Corsair I have a Spektrum AR637T receiver and I fly them on 2s 1300mah batteries using a JST connector. The spinner used for the two bladed prop is a Texson 38mm spinner and the prop a 8x4 one.

    Great job Lapeos, especially the drone rescue! I could see the broken landing gear still on the roof. If you wanted, you could probably still retrieve it with some magnets attached to the rope, assuming the gear is magnetic itself, of course. Also, from what I have seen the FMS Corsair ailerons and elevator are not very scale. If you look at photos of an original Corsair you can very noticeable differences in the design of those control surfaces. The Hobby King version of this plane is definitely more scale looking and the paint scheme is also more visible in the air. Keep up the great work. You have a great knowledge of RC airplanes and were able to solve all the problems you had. I appreciate the effort and high quality of your videos. Cheers from Los Angeles!

    Yeah I might try to retrieve the gears and magnet was a good idea which I will look into. You are right about the details on the Hobbyking Corsair but the FMS Corsair flies extremely good once I solved the issues. In fact it might be the best flying plane I have with the two bladed prop.

    Awesome video and congrats on the rescue... leave no Corsair behind! I love these 800mm warbirds and have them all being the Corsair my favorite plane. One question, can you go into detail about the spinner, prop and or prop adapter. Mine are all stock but I have broken props before and have just flown with 2 out of the 4 but sometimes the stock plastic prop adapter breaks so if I want to switch to go your route seems like it's better less hassles with vibration and breakage plus performance. What all do I need to make this conversion?

    Thanks for watching. I never want to leave any plane behind enemy lines! You can try the two bladed prop In the size I mention in the video and the spinner was something I had in my inventory but I cant remember the brand or part number. Pick one with the right hole to suit the motor axle.

    Very nice long talk and since Im seriously thinking of buying this one, all your insights and advice would come in handy. You know what they say nothing beats "experience". And one more thing since my flying field doesnt have a runway of some kind, Im thinking leaving off the landing gears and using the drop tanks as a kind of skids for belly landing. Would that work? Thanks

  • @SunriseRCAviator

    @SunriseRCAviator

    I don't think it's a good idea to land on the drop tanks as they probably wont hold if you hit something. I land on the belly as is but I put some foam armour underneath the wings where they touch the ground.

  • @MarlonMoyer
    @MarlonMoyer3 жыл бұрын

    How does this one compare to the HK version? Also, when you hand launch, do you still have to account for the left roll? I've only got a grass field and landings are fine, takeoffs can be a pain, but I'm not brave enough to try a hand launch with my warbirds yet. I have no issue hand launching my Eflite F-15 or F-16...go figure.

  • @SunriseRCAviator

    @SunriseRCAviator

    In the air I prefer the FMS but the HK handles much better on the ground. Especially my crashed FMS flies amazing. 3/4 throttle hand toss works fine with almost all planes I've tried so far. A good firm straight toss often works fine without any torque roll.
