Wolfnrun well you can get a soul with 2 ways 1 sacrifice a soul from a stone or a living human or 2 go through a journey after you fail the first time trying human alchemy to gain a huge realization about growing up your place in the world the importance of those close to you the balance between seeking truth and keeping your feelings of those who are close to you and than only than after you are able to realize all the mistakes you had done in your first try you can try and exchange the tool that Lead you through this whole journey to return with one person someone that had also forgone those realization and died by self sacrifice and only than with the support of all the links you have to the world be it your friends family feeling of exploration or just living your life helping others there’s a chance you can get a soul it’s basically like you rolling net20 every roll in D&D for 2 years of playing while also being the best player in table so good luck I will just go full mortal kombat on this shit reap someone’s soul out it’s much easier and you get cool ghost rider powers if you succeed

Despite The Film Theorist (game theory's sister channel) proving they didn't. within their universe it's assumed they DID have the right amounts, just not the (valueless) soul (they added blood, which may have messed with their calculations and blood =/= soul) The whole show is them realizing that the soul has no measurable value meaning it's both worthless and priceless.

But honestly if the philosopher's stone is made of souls and the stone can be depleted after multiple usage, then that means the human soul do share a certain amount of energy doesn't it? It always thought of the soul and the body attached like a stable chemical bond, that it will take loads of energy to break them but it can occur, and the soul itself has only certain value of energy.

The brotherhood ending is way better than the first Full metal alchemist ending because the first one kind of made no sense and ended on a cliffhanger. With this one it gives us a good ending story, and is ultimately way better.

It didn't end on a cliffhanger, it was continued and given a proper ending in the form of a movie. Can't remember the name though, i think it was err "conquerer of something". Warning: i liked both endings but the Fullmetal Alchemist one's ending was tear jerking.

It's been a while since I watched this, so I could be remembering wrong, but the only reason that that worked was because the Elrics had their gates connected, (so that there was still a gate to exit back to the real world with)?

Jerald Lerida Yes and no. The only reason it worked the way it did with Ed is because his and Alphonse are connected due to their previous transmutation fail, anyone else would have to sacrifice their entire life in order to, even then it may fail.

Truth, Hoenheinm and Father said it themselves, human transmutation is impossible. When Ed and Al performed it their minds and portals of truth became connected. That's how Ed was able drag his brother's soul through the Portal and attach it to the armor. Ed's door is the front door and Al's was the back door. In reality Alphonse never died because Ed was nourishing Alphonse's body indirectly by sleeping, eating, and growing for the both of them (Izumi explained this early on). That's also why Ed was so short for his age, he was growing at a mixed pace due to this connection. And thus since Alphonse's body and soul never really died, it was possible to drag his entire being through the back door (Al's gate) by sacrificing Ed's gate (Front door) at the cost of never being able to perform alchemy again. But it wasn't just that alone, he was also forgiven for committing the taboo by Truth because unlike the Dwarf, Ed realized his mistakes and arrogance and learned to humble himself. He answered correctly by truly learning from his mistakes and bettering himself by realizing that even without alchemy he still has everyone who helped him become who he is. It's like he said at the end of the show "There is no such thing as a painless lesson, You can't gain anything without losing something first. Although if you can endure that pain and walk away from it, you will find that you now have a heart strong enough to overcome any obstacle... A heart made Fullmetal". If Ed wanted too, he could have asked Al to sacrifice his portal so that he could also get his leg back but he decided to keep his automail leg as a reminder of his journey for redemption and the mistakes he's made.

+A Complete and Utter Failure Not an equivalent example. People were clearly confused about whether this was the ending or wasn't. If Jane had said "This is an anime" then your example would work.

Im not forcing you to accept Him, but im begging you to consider Him :)

The creator of this anime is a fucking smart, good good... the best moment for me is when Edward break his own wall, I always ask myself how he will save his brother, the possibility was so minimal and Truth is a smart himself...no-one can escape from the equivalence law.....so great.
