Thing is, as a normal human i'd say that's snitching, being a rat. In gangs and other close nit groups they see this as betrayal. But being an all along human wanting the best for everyone, you'd see this as positive. I enjoy both sides of the point. But being human the vast majority would say that the gun holder is more evil than those that what they've done to be judged upon death as a finite. I see this all as tribal warfare upon judgement on others. Thing is, I love that not only full metal alchemist touched upon hard subjects that religion and human theories battle against. In all humanity, we understand now, and it's changed our views and natural emotions that protected us from other monsters like bears or other animal predators. But as our generations advance, so is our intellect and means of weapons. We never strayed from the past, but always feared the future. We are feeling safer, yet out cries are still. *We always adapt, and that is what intelligence is. Yet we need to learn from past least be forgotten.*

I find interesting the FMA 2003 concept that The Great Truth is actually a portal to our reality, and I really like the 1930 aesthetic used on the movie. Though, I have to say that it's quite underwhelming if you compare to Brotherhood's. It's a fine idea nonetheless - I personally like it, but I'll have to admit that Brotherhood does a better job when it comes to explaining what The Great Truth really is, since it has way more to do with the rest of the narrative.

Hmm, you're right. Almost seems to imply that "god" knew what would ultimately happen and when it would happen and deliberately made the characters from Earth die at predestined times so as to allow the characters from Amestris to cross over. It's genuinely difficult to determine if that was deliberate on the writer's part or if it was merely a plot contrivance for convenience's sake, so as to keep the story focused. Interesting... 15 years and I never considered that. I guess I was just a dumb kid, like we all were, back in middle school.

It makes me sad they didn't go with the original idea, and make another season of FMA instead of turning that whole season to a movie. Since so much could be expanded upon. Like the relationship between Alphonse Heiderich and Ed, and how Ed is comprehending this isn't the same Alphonse as in Amestris. Or the other characters, like Hughes being a freaking nazi. Or Alphonse in Amestris missing his brother, and different methods he tries to find a way to bring his brother back. The whole scene where Ed is in the castle and encounters Envy, could've probably been a whole episode. I personally would've loved it. 1, because it's more fma than just 1 hour and 45 minutes, could probably have been 26. 2, because the movie didn't have time to develop a lot of elements. And so on.

They had to end the show sooner or later. They were still making FMA manga, at the time. The Manga wouldn't be done for another 5 years (this movie came out in 2005 in Japan, 2006 for America.) They did an anime original ending. Also Brotherhood wouldn't exist if they kept going with this show.

Many things can be said about that movie but it has so much soul in it, it's imperfect and bittersweet and hurts you just right. As much as I love BH and it's happy ending, this one is just as satisfying to me, if not more so. It feels so much more honest and real, not the Happy Ever After everyone deserved but the flawed but hopeful note to pause at. Watching it feels like visiting your hometown years after leaving and realizing just how much everything has changed. You changed. But it's still the same place with the same roots and nothing is truly gone, just transformed. The air is sweet, and there's something raw in your chest breaking so it could finally start to heal. A little personal tragedy of a movie that's just yours, and the world you just saved will never know how close it came to destruction, but that's okay. You're at peace that comes only after a complete, cathartic breakdown. I'm bad with words, but tl;dr: movie good. me have feels.

The man's funeral was like 30 seconds long. :/ It would've benefited from being around 2 minutes... but the narrative had no time for it so it wrapped up quick to fit with the tone of the ending.
