    This is really proving to be a great radio. I have achieved one kilometre with an f949 (yes FPV on a 50 gram plane!) running in AFHDS only, and with my Hawksky and X84 wing with x6b and iA6B receivers on AFHDS2A, over two kilometres so far with no failsafes. You can disable telemetry, and it also has hall effect 4k gimbals, you can easily exchange any of the other two position switches for three position, or pots, unlike the older i6. I have just changed the batteries for the first time after months of flying with it, and my only problem was the power switch recently getting very stiff. I popped it out and greased the back face and it is good again. One important upgrade that is required (listening flysky?) is to have audible alarm option available for RSSI. The value is there available on screen, but useless while flying fpv if you can't read it, it requires an audible warning, so hopefully a future software upgrade will address this. The battery voltage alarm, although quiet compared to my Taranis is still ok. I currently have over ten planes and two heli's running with this radio, and I get way less failsafes than with any of my frsky X series receivers on the Taranis, actually nearly double the range. Love it, I can actually trust it.

    Hi, good video. I have a question; can you set an alarm for a 4s battery for example, to start beeping at 14.0v? I have tried to do it with the I6 but it seems impossible, the rx voltage threshold only goes up to 10 volts..

    Ty for the review man! But noone talks in detaill where to connect this battery sensor cable on the fc. I'm new to this and prepairing to build my first quad with this receiver. On every video they hook it on the battery. Other say solder to the pdb. Isn't it ment to connect to the fc?

    This RX does a great job sending the right voltage sensing to my fs-i6 (no X), however I am having problems getting the TX to sound an alarm when my 4s is low in voltage. The TX alarm setting only go as high as 5v. Ideally, I need the alarm to sound when the voltage goes below 14.4v. Is there anyway to solve this? Does the i6x TX allow this alarm to be set? Can I upgrade the firmware of the original i6 to have the alarm work properly.

    its nice to see flysky adding new stuff, i hope the new wireless updates aren't just a lock out for people to hack the new radio, they do look a bit nicer than the old i6, woulda been nice to have a usb port to use with flight sims.

    Hey there, Are you gonna release a new video on this transmitter soon? I am still interested in the voltage port... Do I need an extra sensor or is it like the Turnigy one where you can connect the voltage directly? And can you say something or share some pics of the internals because people are speaking about possible hardware upgrades?

    Hello. Please help me. In the FS-i6X model, USB signals are already output to the connector, not UART. This means that a UART converter is not needed and you can connect directly to USB. I understand that you can update the firmware via USB. But I need to know how to link 2 remotes to train a student and how to connect it to a computer for the trainer. Questions: 1.Can I use the USB connection for simulator training? 2. Will it be possible to connect a computer directly to the PPM output of the Tranier connector through the sound input of the card? So how do they do it in the FS-i6? 3.How to connect the remote control to another remote control. Should I connect the pin bus to USB or take the PPM In and PPM Out pins?

    can you elaborate more on how you update the firmware wirelessly? does it have a bluetooth or wifi chip? otherwise how does the transmitter gets the new firmware? so you said the voltage monitor allows 1-4s, why do you need an external voltage sensor? isn't it included on the receiver? to me it looks like they are using the exact same hardware, updated the firmware and made a new receiver and put it as a new product. as you all probably know there is a community firmware that allows 10 channels also on the old transmitter.

    Hello and thanks for asking. Yeah, I´ll elaborate more on that as soon as I try it. There is a dedicated port in the receiver for the voltage sensor, the receiver itself does not seems to offer that option. This receiver will allow up to 18CH via iBus. Cheers.

    Is the hardware the same? If it is, it will have the same range. 300m is just absurd. The range, of course, varies with the receiver being used. It will however have shorter range compared to the ia6b which uses two dipole antennas. Please check if the hardware is the same. Just post a part two comparing the insides of the two receivers. (or does that violate the reviewer's contract if there is one)

  • @RCFlyer85

    @RCFlyer85

    The range mainly depends on the receiver. So I think they mean that the receiver that comes with this bundle is only rated at 300m... If you use an ia6b i'm sure you'll get the full range of the previous transmitter
