Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Day One! Flying To Quebec City - Hope Air Expedition 2024
Join Glen on his journey from Oshawa to Quebec City in the first leg of our "Give Hope Wings" fundraising expedition!
In this first leg, we take off under beautiful blue skies, navigating through some challenging VFR conditions and dodging low clouds forecasted to clear by our arrival. Our trusty plane, Mike Victor Uniform, stands by ready for takeoff from Runway 30. As we climb to our cruising altitude of 5,500 feet, we battle a headwind, making for a slower journey but giving us stunning views of the landscapes below.
As we approach Quebec City, we descend past the iconic St. Lawrence River and over the historic Plains of Abraham. After landing at Quebec City's Jean Lesage International Airport, we take you on a quick tour of this charming city. Explore the rich history of Quebec’s Old Town, marvel at its stone architecture from the 1600s
Explore Quebec City:
After landing, we delve into Quebec City's rich history and vibrant culture. Stroll through Old Town’s cobblestone streets, marvel at centuries-old architecture, and savor the local cuisine. Learn about the city’s fascinating past, from its founding to the pivotal battles fought on the Plains of Abraham.
Stay Tuned:
We have much more to explore in the upcoming days. From the charm of Quebec City to the coastal wonders of Eastern Canada, this journey is just beginning. Don't miss out on the next legs of our adventure!
Flight Highlights:
Weather Briefing: Clear skies in Oshawa but some low VFR clouds en route. We’re ready for takeoff from Runway 30!
Takeoff and Initial Climb: Mike Victor Uniform lifts off smoothly, climbing to 5,500 feet despite a challenging quartering headwind.
En Route: As we cruise towards Quebec City, we discuss our flight plan, encounter low clouds near Ottawa, and enjoy the stunning views of the St. Lawrence River.
Approach and Landing: Detailed coordination with Montreal Center and a scenic approach over the historic Plains of Abraham before a smooth landing at Jean Lesage International Airport.

Hello Glen, I have seen most of your videos about C-FMVU and I was particularly touched by this one which describes your visit to Quebec and more specifically the beautiful city of Quebec. Very beautiful images added to the correct and precise comments 10/10. I myself own a beautiful 1950 Cessna 170 in perfect flying condition. However, I would like to finalize one day its restoration to the level of C-FMVU, which is very similar on many points. Good luck with your fundraising campaign for Hope Air. Robert Mercier,

I am in the same boat! After buying my 150, I found myself getting tossed around hard. I started to rethink owning a plane and feared I lost my nerve. One fact I forgot was, all my training and renting happened in the early hours of the morning before the thermals. Very different from the mid day flights I'd take in my little flying golf cart 😅. I adjusted the time of day I fly and started to enjoy it again.

@@bensteyn1974 Generally not - if you are on with ATC (tower or radar surveillance) anything that will affect you is relayed in your native tongue. When it can get a little bit dicey is in uncontrolled airspace and at non-towered airports; you need to be on your toes and always ask for clarification in English. For the most part if you declare that you don’t understand, the other pilots will switch to English. If you are English only with no understanding of French, then you should always be on with Montreal Centre. They will give you a traffic advisory giving you a really good picture before releasing you to an uncontrolled airport.
