Hey man! No hate when I say this, but you’re definitely fast. I did my PPL through commercial in a warrior before transitioning to Cirrus. You’re gonna want your final approach speed to be stall + 15 knots. Other than that, on base and final you should try to be 80/85 knots and 500 feet AGL at the base turn. Great job though!

Yep! I agree, I fly the piper irl and my speed in the pattern is usually fine. But in the sim my power management and decent is off because I have trouble feeling and hearing the aircraft like I would irl. So in the video I had to correct by bleeding the speed off when I was above the runway. I also struggled with my base turn to final because I couldn’t look for the runway like I would irl. The speed was also the primary reason I bounced the first one, as I was trying to bleed it off in the flair. Glad someone noticed it because I was definitely feeling it

@@ctrent03 yeah, I totally agree. Ever since I got eye tracking my patterns have been better. I also got a force feedback yoke that has helped tremendously. It also helps to use an adapter with your irl aviation headset (I use A30s) to let you hear the engine and wind noise. But remember, you can always do a slip to bleed of speed.

0:48 Why do people still read the METAR? All I do is go into the FMS and get the ATIS via datalink, or if I'm not in a plane with an FMS, I'll just tune the ATIS and listen to it, which is also way easier than taking the time to decode a METAR

No atis at an uncontrolled airspace in vatsim. And Pa-28 fms can’t check altimeter. METAR is the only other option 🥲

I got tripped up thinking other PA-28 do rotate at 55, asked my CFI, and they said for short feild it could technically be 65 but other than that, its all I could find!
