Flying on Air Inuit's De Havilland Canada TWIN OTTER!
Air Inuit has one of the largest operations of any Quebec-based regional airline, and mainly serves the northern region of the province, known as Nunavik.
Located in the far northeast of the province, Kuujjuaq is the largest town in this region, home to over 2,600 people. Because of that, it’s an important hub for Air Inuit and for the communities along the Ungava Bay coast.
Following a great trip there with my good friend @MarkBrandonAviation, it was time to head back home, and the first leg involved this Twin Otter to someplace I never thought I'd see again!

"If we don't look back, it's because we don't care about you." Somehow one of the friendliess air crew I ever heard
Those airport facilities look quite good considering where they are located and the volume of traffic that probably goes through there. I am quite impressed. This video was quite fascinating. Thank you

I’m doing CPL time building. I do cross countries to some very remote places in manitoba and Ontario and I’m continuously impressed with the facilities as small rural FBOs. It’s always a pleasant surprise to see a heated FBO with fuel pumps in the middle of frozen manitoba

Federal.government transfers lots of dollars to the north, and them dollars do get spent
7:04🤩🤩 Beautiful capturing ❤
I LOVE the no-screening bit. Might make me fly more, just being able to board a plane like it's a train...
Yay! , Twotter!
Great work! Oh and that light at the bottom of the the door. That’s a lot more fun at 19,000ft and pressurized! A leaky seal and a few empty garbage bags getting sucked out, trying to stop that God awful sound! Then turn to have a pax watching what your doing and about the same shade of white as those nice white puffy clouds. “standard operating procedures nothing to worry about! We are all good, would you like a drink on the house?” 🤪
Amazing video as always man! Where i live the Twinotter sits in a museum so its really cool to see one still flying at that age...
You fly so we don't have to fly? Very interesting videos. As a Canadian, from Toronto, 65yrs old, l still find it amazing that those places up there are Canada. So different. (BTW, one of my favorite Canadian movies is the Snow Walker, aviation in the 50's up there). Thanks much for giving me/us a look of what's up there.
Another Alex masterpiece
Gotta love the twotter, a great little Canadian export. very strong and dependable, our local airline Loganair operates three of them to a variety of destinations including the only regular service to a beach with three sand runways, Barra Eoligarry Airport. EGPR.
I love this sort of adventure! I’m living vicariously through your travels. I have flown on a DeHavilland Beaver, and I really enjoyed that.
Two hours of lo-fi PT6 and arctic tundra ASMR.
Breathtaking scenery
The Good Ole Twin Otter! Great video!
Hey Alex, I loved this flight. The Twin Otter is a magnificent aircraft in its performance and utility. Couple it with the conditions and destination of your trip and this video was perfect. I could get more ASMR about it but that would just be weird. But it got that deep. I love this time of year and flying just makes it even more fun.
Love the foldout seats!
Flying in the North is so much different than those South of 60 experience; nice; thanks for sharing; continued safe flying Bud!
Love the vid🎉
I always have enjoyed riding aboard Twin Otters.
God, that looked COLD!
Amazing video. thanks for sharing.
cool footage, thumbs up
Very well done
Nice! I love your videos! Hope to be a future WestJet pilot someday.

Love Rockley Beach surf!
That scenery is something else! If you built up your hours and all the relevant qualifications would you consider flying in a similar capacity to this? It definitely would give me food for thought myself!

100%! My French wouldn't be good enough to fly in Quebec (at least as it is now) but somewhere else up north would be something...
SUNDAY FUNDAY
Always loved ny time in the north. Flying was great without the need for security check ups - except for when flying to Yellowknife
As a non Canadian, the Twin Otter was actually the fourth plane I have ever flown in, on my third day of flying. in 1988, at 18, I came from Milan to Vancouver Island, first on a KLM A310 to Amsterdam, then a venerable 747-200 or 300 to Chicago (KL611) and a United 757 to Vancouver, after which the last trip was in an Air BC Twin Otter. I remember the low speed compared to the jets I had before and the low altitude, although I remember it to be a tad higher than 1000 ft. That plane probably still flies somewhere in Canada too.
I live there
That sideslip angle after takeoff at 4:50 is pretty crazy 😂 couldn’t imagine what landing in those conditions would be like
Cruising at 2,000ft for a 2+ hour flight seems super odd, even for a twin otter! Would've thought they'd cruise above 5,000ft
That's quite an interesting little plane. Flying at 2000 metres would be really great!y, I would think. I am guessing it's wise not to drink anything either before, or during the flight as I presume there is no loo 🤣
These little 🇨🇦airports amaze me. The 🇺🇸has been writing off commercial air service to small town regional airports for years. No $$ in it.😳 Nor care for folks in smaller regional towns.
Wonder if the Cessna 408 SkyCourier would be ideal for Air Inuit or the new Twin Otter models. Also have you ever done the Twin Otter flight in Scotland where you land at worlds only beach airport.
do labrador base next!
Gee it looked like the treeline was further south ?
Hey Alex I have a question: if you were to do a trip report on a flight to Halifax, would you do a direct, or a stop somewhere? My mom recently flew air Canada’s a220 to Halifax and had a stop in YYZ on the way back. She said the a220 was awesome and super quiet. That could be an interesting report, just a suggestion for the future. Cheers!

Can go to inukjuak please
What is the language or strange text on the screens, never seen it before!
Sooooo… what do you do for a living ? It seems like you fly all the time.
its really too bad Air Inuit and other northern airlines are so expensive making it prohibitably expensive to visit

Considering that a twin otter is around 1700usd per flight hour to operate and you only have five Pax, it’s quite clear why such flights are very expensive

The price reflects government paying government plus all the negative costs.
