The way out only exists because the camera render distance does down the further it zooms in. If you see the rainbow background there's usually still stuff there. The computer just doesn't calculate it because it would take too much time.

Maxim Gwiazda actually, it was zooming, and panning, and moving, all at once. Also a similar effect would happen if you fell in and we applied gravity, as you'd be pulled all over the place on your way to the core, but be unable to hit things because they're more empty than an atom and scale is fluid...

Thomas Prislac I would assume it acts like atomic structures, so that it is equally attracting and repelling everything within it, and that due to the way certain forces propagate through the structure it holds its form. Adding the Ant-Man (shrinking and growing through an microstructure) doesn't actually change much as they would be held in the centre most section of any given passage and would be repelling and attracting the structure in such a way that it would appear to be viewed through a distorted lens, but any change they made would revert as they moved on... (I have a bad head cold atm, so if I don't make any sense, that's probably why...)

The worst is that there is actually _nothing_ concrete. Because wherever you go, as you come closer to a wall the wall itself would disintegrate into an infinite numbers of holes and corridors, which are also infinite, as we can guess by seeing the video. And that goes on for _every_ scales. So if you were falling into this place, you would never reach anything for eternity. Because this place is only made of void. And of course, unless you start from the exterior there are absolutely no ways to find an exit.

To see where this all started, do a search for "Mandelbulb". It's basically a regular 2D mandelbrot set, but symmetrically repeated in 3 dimensions in a very particular way. These visualizations are appealing because they can be zoomed into the same as their 2D counterpart, which earlier attempts couldn't do.
