Beautiful! And great camera work too. I used to work at Pearl Harbor when we lived there. One thing I enjoyed doing when at Waikiki Beach, was watching the aircraft come and go both military and commercial. One can get a good view of them from tnere.

At 5:21 in the video, on the other side of the taxiway, there is a little hill. Back in the 90s, we used to be able to pull up there in our vehicles and watch the planes land and take off!

Funny how times have changed. 80 years ago planes flew from Japan to Honolulu with much different results.

When I was I in the Navy, the ship I was stationed aboard moored at the piers you can see on this video at the 4:38 mark. If I was topside I always waved to the people on the planes as they were landing. Their first "ALOHA" to the aloha state.

@@carbidegrd1 I "get" that. No trans Pacific flights in those days. We were a nation at peace. It's gonna be us against everyone else soon enough, or will it come from within?

He said the time is 4 minutes after 8pm and the sun is still out. When does it get dark in Honolulu?

6 to 6:45 P.M. depending on the time of year. The time does not get changed in Hawai’i twice a year like the nuts on the mainland do.
