Love watching your videos they bring back some good memories of when me and my dad were racing pigeons. Burton and son in the new North amal. Wish I could get back into it but seems a dying hobby with not many clubs or members.

Hi Dan , I’ve watched your videos from the beginning, it’s nice to watch your journey of learning the art of pigeon racing , you never stop learning but the most important thing is you take enjoyment from the hobby . I have started doing race day videos this year but it’s solely race days and not a story as you take us through , but have a watch and you may find it interesting seeing how we use trappers and how every second counts if you want to be successful . I'm in the US and have horrible trouble with falcons. I do my young bird training before July because that's when I had heavy losses and only flew them in from a toss after that.

with respect and its good you can mate here in spain i dont start flying until we get to 100miles training due to where i live then i race to 870km from portugal to a place called caspe in zaragoza if you wish to look it up we fly round or over so many mountains 1600mts high hakws galore wining races with 1770 metres per minuet

I am super new in the pigeon racing rabbit hole I've found myself in. I have now found local Facebook groups, bird breeders, and locations for potential coop. I am so happy I found your video's and I am deeply considering doing this myself. Also the cinematography is fantastic keep it up man!

Well done again Dan, once you keep getting in every week that's the main ring, as the wins will follow for sure. All pigeons don't break well from the race point Dan, some are still circling whilst a batch of maybe a hundred or so have done 2 laps and broke and headed for home, this is where the them being keen comes in, others are just following the flock and won't break from it at the race point some will near home and others will over shoot and come back late all ways, all down 2 keenness really, motivation is the key. That lad that has being late twice, maybe put him away for the second half of the season with the other 2, and definitely pull them broken flights out, they be back up in weeks as will the tail, Like the lad that was 4th u nursed back , all ways time to go with them again, these lads that are flagging there pigeons are giving them meds for the stress that comes with not being allowed to land also they might expect the flag on race day and mite effect trapping, can't beat training weather alone or with others, roll on the distance and you're next race

Well done good overall team performance. All home and possibly a good fed position with more experience under their wings for the birds. The fitness and form will come with racing them the more they race the fitter they will become

Yeah I'm hoping so. Definitely need to work on trapping but I think 56 miles isn't enough for them. Next race is about 100 miles then up to 150 so they'll hopefully trap better then

@@howtotrainyourpigeon totally agree the further it gets the trapping will get better plus first couple of races they will be a little nervous anyway. Also the last bird that’s been behind may be more distance so the further the distance the better it will get but then they can’t all be champions unfortunately

Just a question Dan are on old bird racing are you racing natural or widowhood??or just racing hens ?? And how many young birds do you intend to have for racing ??

I'm racing a form of widowhood, in that the pair bonds aren't that strong as yearlings and as I'm racing the hens too, the cocks might find their hen isn't home when they get back. I'll let you know YB numbers when the hawks have finished dinner
