Flying FIB to a Private Island
Ойын-сауық
Welcome to episode 1 of what I hope to build into a series of adventure videos documenting all the eccentric and exciting adventures I find.
On this episode, my co-pilot puppy Bean and I fly 15miles/25km from shore to a private island for lunch and a tour. On our flight back we experience pretty strong winds of about 20mph, but pull off a smooth landing right at the entrance to the harbor.
A great day! Thanks to my friends for lunch and the island invite!

Feel free to message me on Instagram @bfasan I'm a certified instructor, and we can talk about getting you flying.. and maybe even race you with my jet surf lol
Canada must be a great place to fly F.I.B. You had perfect weather for your trip. Flying over open water in hazy condition can be tricky as you loose your horizon, it looks all grey in grey. Also pretty calm winds. Sometimes inexperienced pilots are troubled with cross- and downwind landings, which often cause the wing fly in different heading than the boat. I haven't flown such crafts for over 15 years now. Have fun and fly safe!

@@JohnKozmik Nope, never been to Canada. As I'm 71 and retired now, I live the last 15 years in the Philippines. FIB flying in Thailand, Indonesia and Korea was possible without restrictions 20 years ago. I'm not sure about today.

Brandon, would like to know how do you secure the north wing to the FIB during transport ?, I see a smaller front tube. Do you drive a lot of miles with the wing on the FIB ?

I strap the control bar to the airframe, and I build a custom telescoping front wing support post. It works out super easy and convenient. And I have driven literally to the southern end of Mexico and back, as well as all across the United States. Works great!
Love 4m India😊😊😊.great
I was going to say I want one of these, but it is more of a need actually Lol. Quick question: I have a chance to purchase one of these, like new. Only thing I don't like about it is that has the Cables instead of Struts that go out to Wing Tips. Can this be changed out? Makes it way easier to just fold up the Wing and leave on the Boat.

My strong recommendation is to purchase the aircraft, but to ensure you purchase a strutted wing, I use and recommend NorthWing Mustang 3 k20. As you are correct that it very easily folds for transport when compared to a cable braced wing, which in my opinion is much harder to maintain and harder to fold. I am also a certified instructor, so depending on where you live I would be happy to offer affordable training. I am also potentially selling my whole aircraft simply just to upgrade to another very similar aircraft, so please get in touch with any questions. My email is bfasan at Gmail dot com.

I'm going to replace FIB with the wings of North Wing Mustang K20 just like you. Is there anything you need to pay attention to?

Talk to Cameron at North Wing, but not really. It's a very straight forward swap.
