Flying Ethiopian Airlines A350 New Business Class Across Africa
I continue to discover Ethiopian Airlines operations behind the scenes at Addis Ababa Airport. There are 2 peaks every day, one in the morning and one in the evening with many arrivals and departures connecting at Addis Ababa. Check out the latest Ethiopian Airlines Business Class lounge in Addis Ababa.
I boarded a new Ethiopian Airlines A350-900 to Cape Town, it has a new Business Class in 1-2-1 staggered layout. The pilot showed the A350 cockpit and explained the high-altitude operation at Addis Ababa and its limitation on takeoff weight.
Flight time to Cape Town is 6 hours from Addis Ababa, flying through Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Botswana before reaching South Africa. During the flight, traditional Ethiopian cuisine is served with injera bread. Discover more about Ethiopian Airlines' service and flight operation on the A350 in my video.

I stand in awe of the magnificent size of Ethiopian Airlines having more aircraft in it's fleet than Swiss Air, Air Austria, Air Belgium and even Air Portugal. In addition Ethiopian Airlines is developing a $5 billion new airport with capacity to host 100 million passengers per annum making it bigger than Dubai international airport and second only to Istanbul. It doesn't matter whether Ethiopia or Kenya is the fastest growing economy in Eastern Africa it matters that the African success story is repeated all over the continent. Thank you very much and have a great afternoon 🤗🤗

Ethiopian Airlines have totally cornered the aviation industry in the whole of Africa! Their unrivaled expertise is second to none on the continent! As a South African, I have to agree with you. So much meddling from our government has damaged our national airline beyond belief! South African Airways has been operating at a loss for so long, and the flight experience and food quality was at a coin's toss. You never know from one flight to the next, what you're going to get. Many South Africans prefer using Ethiopian for African travels.
First time I ever flew on a plane I was 9 years old, it was an Ethiopian Airlines flight. I was so amazed and mesmerized by aircraft and it was at that moment I knew what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. Today I am a Licensed aircraft mechanic working for an airline in my country.

Thanks for the video, Sam. My favorite Ethiopian food is Enjeera and Dorowot. You like it after getting used to the heavy spice. The spice stays on your fingers for a long time. Ethiopian airlines is flying a newer fleet, growing and maintaining it's market presence ... The executive of this establishment are highly skilled. P.S. @giths19
Жыл бұрын
the reason other countries seem to have older pilots is because most of them require pilots to pay their way into the industry which is very expensive. Then you have to build your hours and experience by flying smaller planes + being a flight instructor. In the US you can skip the high costs by being in the military but you have to be lucky and work for the military. For African airlines looking to grow and cant afford to lure foreign pilots, it only makes sense to run your own flight schools, pay to train your own pilots from within your borders. The pilots pay off some of the loan by working for them. With pilot shortage looming, you'll be seeing a lot of young pilots. The countries/Airlines that depended on the old models will be forced to invest in their own flight schools because luring other pilots will become very expensive and unsustainable.
