What's Flying RwandAir and the Country Rwanda Like?
Last week, I flew on RwandAir A330-300 to Rwanda. Find out from my video what flying RwandAir is like? The RwandAir A330 has 3 classes; business, premium economy and economy class. During my flight, I checked out the meals, services and seats on RwandAir.
Kigali International Airport has a tabletop runway over 5,000 ft above sea level. We had low visibility with less than 1km on landing in the morning.
After landing, I travelled to my hotel at the One & Only Gorilla’s Nest. It is one of the best luxury accommodations in Rwanda. The next morning, I hiked in the Volcanoes national park to see gorillas. It was a unique opportunity to watch gorillas from a close distance. Rwanda is one of only three countries in Africa where you can see gorillas.
Finally, I took an August 109 helicopter of Akagera Aviation back to Kigali Airport. During the helicopter flight, I saw the many hills of Rwanda. I departed Rwanda on RwandAir Dash8-Q400 to Nairobi. Next week, I will be flying a 46 year old B727 classic in Kenya.

Rwanda’s development is a shining beacon for countries recovering from decades of strife and tragedy. Always had an eye on Rwanda ever since hearing of the developments they’ve been making to better their country so it was fun seeing their national airline which is one I’d be more than happy to fly with in the future!

@Joshua Brewer Actually there’s a wide range of accommodations nearby. Rooms at _La Natura Guesthouse_ for example start at $18 or $20. Beautiful place with breakfast included. That’s one among dozens of hotels to choose from right there.

I am so happy to see that Rwanda has their own Airlines. It is such a good progress for a small country in an African continent to compete in an international market. Great work by people of Rwanda.

What a beautiful country of Africa !!! Rwanda is my favorite country and i can say that, it's a role-model in term of peace,cleanliness,developpment and democracy for the rest of Africa countries. I'm a young african leader who participated two leadership programs, one in the US and the other in Kenya. I'm from Djibouti and i'm a teacher of english language at a local high school. I speak french, english, and arabic. I Dream of being Djibouti envoy to Rwanda someday. I will be with God's help !!

Hi Sam, of all my flying experience all over the world, Rwandair gave me the treatment of a king, will never forget. It may be considered normal service but i really felt pampered. This is the story. Coming from Mauritius through Jo'burg i unfortunately missed my connecting flight from Kigali enroute Abuja, NIGERIA. With little explanation it didn't take long officials took me to immigration desk and was asked if i would like to stay a day or two. I went into town checked into hotel+ feeding free, I could actually afford anyway. Don't ask me because I did good things in town. Also learned about 'ubumuntu' humanity and rebirth of the country after the unfortunate genocide. The second day i returned to airport and flew through Addis back home. I remember one Assia of Rwandair who did all the arrangements. It was so so nice. I will go back someday In Shaa Allah. Kudos Rwandair for flying the African flag and for being so great.

I’m a dedicated fan of yours Sam, as I value your objective travel reporting. But I have to say the RwandAir and Rwanda county report, short as it may have been, was simply stunning. Naturally it was made special by your close proximity to the nation’s famed national treasure. I’ve never seen such a spectacular resort either. Great show and keep up the top reporting, now that the world is opening up post-Covid.
This is one of the best vlogs I found. Looking nice bru. I am flying to Kigali soon and nervous but excited. Rwanda has some truly beautiful spaces from what someone close to me has shown me.

This is amazing! That hotel suite is out of this world, I'd want to stay forever, and meeting the Gorillas and getting so close to them is something never to be forgotten and a memory to cherish. I would love to visit one day if fate allows.

Rwanda is a prosperous, safe, well-governed & modern nation. And also one of cleanest countries in the world. It has a cool climate & is the Switzerland of Africa. But only 2% of the population is Moslm. 94% of the population is Christian. About time Rwanda took in lots of Moslm refugees. Let the Moslm rafoojees enjoy the prosperity of the most successful nation in Africa. Let those Afghans, Pakistanis, Bangladeshis, Syrians, Libyans, Yemenis, Moroccans, Algerians, Somalis, Sudanese, Pulustinians & Iraqis turn Rwanda into another Sweden. This is the part of the Wyt Progressive agenda. Dstroy any successful & affluent African nation & make us dependent on them. Bravo UK. Good plan 👍🏿

I'm glad to see what Rwandan people are working hard to welcome visitors and show their cultural and natural beauties. Almost 30 years ago horrible events happened there that the World or the powers shouldn't have let them happen. The innocents must never be forgotten. Glad to see that Rwandair offers a good experience onboard. I think many African airlines are unfairly very underrated.

Great video Sam and it's so good to see Rwanda thriving and stable. The Gorilla experience will live with you for years to come believe me as the memories I have from seeing them almost 24 years ago just across the northern border in Uganda (just after the genocide) still remain with me to this day. Mind you it didn't cost me that much money way back then.
