@Tim did you mention for DJI drones in particular that DJI actually restricts flight of the drone (they control whether the drone can actually fly or not) based on it's location? The DJI fly-safe website allows you to view where these restricted areas are, and allows you to 'unlock' these zones based on certain criteria.

I think it's been answered already, but do you need to take the equivalent flyer ID in france to fly there? I've already registered on alpha tango. Just got to get the sticker sorted. My insurance is coverdrone, which I'm pretty sure covers the EU.

Hi, you can cross reference, countries do change their rules and you should follow the links I've given to read what they say. But I don't believe for a sub 250g recreational drone flight you'll need insurance. Contact Coverdrone for more info and what's available.

Rhodes it's self is a CTR so go south West if the island. You're 'supposed' to not fly over historical monuments. Check local no fly rules, some countries have a no fly rule. Generally they tend to be quite relaxed, just be descreet, sensitive and respectful.

Hi, you should check the rules of the specific country. With Greece you need to fill a form to show you have EU registration and give dates and location. I entered my hotel and the whole period I was travelling but used the drone in other locations and also used DJI FltSafe for GeoZone unlock when away all without problems.

They'll try and chat to you 2. Privacy challenges. Also, technically don't over fly historical buildings. Which is difficult in Greece. But no one is out to get you, just be respectful and look out for signs that say NO DRONES.

"In respect of the EASA Operator ID, on this occasion insurers note that you were unaware this was required. However, going forward any future claims will require you to provide valid permissions for the respective country that you are flying in and it is the operators responsibility to check this and obtain the necessary permits before flying."
