Flying ATV brings farming into a cyberpunk future

Ғылым және технология

This unique aerial vehicle lets farmers take to the sky. Ohio-based startup, Ryse Aero Technologies, has created a unique machine that can be flown without a pilot’s license, and offers a new way to see a farm or ranch.
RYSE RECON is an ultralight eVTOL. It’s a single-rider, six blade aerial vehicle that operates like a drone or helicopter. Powered by six electric motors, the carbon-blade propellers spin at 2,000 rpm.
Founder and CEO, Mick Kowitz, points out how easy it is to fly, noting that with as little as 45 minutes of training a user can be in the air. A main screen between two joysticks is what constitutes the operator platform. The six electric rotors use removable battery packs that can be taken out for charging. The vehicle has a flight time of 25 minutes, and a top speed of about 60 mph.
The company is putting test machines in the hands of farmers this fall and has a full build schedule planned out. Kowitz says that they will start in 2023 with 100 machines that will mostly be hand built, and have a goal to build 1,000 in 2024.
