When you buy the DVD box set of Kikaida, you get a pair of 3-D glasses. For this upload they altered the 3-D effects to black & white, good thinking! 👍🏾

Pretty awesome. Fun Fact: When this movie came out in theaters in Japan, it was in 3-D.

fun fact, though it doesn't look like it would do much good on KZread, the parts that say to put on or take off the glasses were apparently retained on KZread :3

​@@Seibaki KZread supports stereoscopic 3D and a quick search reveals anaglyph videos _do_ exist on KZread. I guess it depends on if the original masters are still intact as they wouldn't be able to upload it properly without both sides. This is most likely from a home video copy though. Looking into it, Kikaider DVD Volume 9 has this movie with English subtitles, so they probably just used that. Would explain why the video playback has 1080p.

@@mattwo7 I understand that KZread supports 3D (at all) but the thing is 1) I don't think it supports it if the 3D is only part of the video & not t hough the full video & 2) Grayscale doesn't help the 3D effect well for those same sections

@@mattwo7 DVD can't do HD, dude.....lmfao The DVD is also letterboxed for this movie (I own all 9 volumes)

Jiro plays such a pretty song, on that guiltar without strings. by same magic Professor Gill can play that evil sounding flute and talk at the same time.

Wow! The production is gorgeous! The new monster is more elaborated and has many more parts than the ones from the TV show! And some of them return for a vengeance. The locations are gorgeous, too at the Tottori Sand Dunes and Yokohama. The scene with the helicopter was also something to see. A pity the 3D feature didn't make it in this exibition and the scenes ended up in b/w. Even though we can see which parts actually "flew at us". Very nice to see, anyway!

@@TokuWaffle No, if you look at the glasses in the "put on your glasses" alerts it's the red/blue version. Pulfrich I think requires color. They just didn't upload with the 3D effect because nobody really uses the red/blue anymore so only a few people (like me) have both 3D glasses types.

I was lucky as a kid of the 70's to be able to watch Space Giants & Spectreman ( U.S. english Titles) back to back after school everyday and then Ultraman on saturday mornings! Been a fan of tokusatsu ever since so I love seeing the old stuff!

Never even heard of Space Giants and Spectreman before, didn't know there was a toku based on a Tezuka manga (Ambassador Magma, the Japanese version of Space Giants). Also Spectreman looks like a Chinese bargain bin knockoff of Ultraman. Least he's more legally distinct than Jet Jaguar (the absolute unit version from Godzilla Singular Point obviously notwithstanding) amirite?

@@mattwo7 Definitely a fair point on Spectreman :) Space Giants was my favorite by far and Spectreman came on right before so it was a good warm-up :)

I remember watching this at Palace Theater in Hilo.

It's crazy how people in the past sent stuntmen to run around moving bikes. But well, at least it looks good...

One of my favorite to watch, always watched it when I got home from school on DVD player. Still have the OG 📀 and will never get rid of them. They will be incorporated into my urn ⚱️ one day. KIKAIDA forever

You only releasing this stuff for only a limited time is making me go on Amazon to buy old DVD sets. That's less money for YOU. Stop being stingy with these shows and just let people enjoy them.
