Nice flight and plane, how funny because just recently my sister and I bought the tickets and we will fly on American, but we arrived and departed in Narita hahahaha, not in Haneda. It's good to know that they have plenty of food and refreshments (I would have liked to fly more on JAL or ANA, but we couldn't reserve seats when purchasing them on LATAM/American or United respectively). Greetings Andrew :) Let's see if everything goes well and this year I'm in Japan, obviously I'll let you know there hahaha

Finnair does not have a Dreamliner. That aircraft you saw at HND is a A350-900.

Wow what a large plane.. Did you check in a bag or instead check in a carry-on for free at the check-in counter. How was the customer service and seat comfort. Food looks delicious.

AA is known to have the best Asian service compared to delta and United. That’s one thing they do right

Great review!! I’m flying main cabin extra on AA in a few months . Do you know if the onboard snack service you showed throughout the flight would be available on most AA long haul flights? Looks like a nice touch!!

If it's a long haul international (non North American) flight, they should have it. I image the type of snacks may be different based on the destination. Do some recon and report back with the type of snacks on your flight!

Great review! Did your Dreamliner have an area in the back for extra snacks you may want to take during the flight?

There was snacks in the mid galley! The back was only for crew use afaik. There was extra snack boxes and some other treats.

Thank you for the video. The experience looks better than I expected. But not sure I will fly American on a transpacific flight : for long haul (and short haul too) I really prefer Airbus, specially A350 (and miss both A340 and B747). And second reason, I will be ready to pay more for flying an asian airlines, how are the top of the top (JAL that I love). My last travel to Japan. Prior Covid, I flew back to Europe with Finnair (from Nagoya) on A350. Really great. Now they often use the north pole route, it must be something to fly !

You should be able to see around the 4:33 mark. If there is no widow there would be a blank panel, which doesn't appear in this case. Row 11 is the second row of the economy class I believe so you should be fine.

I snagged an $1100 usd round trip from SFO to Haneda on JAL. On economy. I generally avoid US carriers for international travel. But seems like they could’ve been worse. But knowing JAL wasn’t too much more I do wish your ticket had been cheaper considering JAL is a superior product across the board.

  • @theglobalpeasant

$1100 w/ JAL is a great price. Bonus to HND since flights there are usually more! But with the depreciated yen, the USD goes a lot farther in Japan! I did JAL the year prior by booking through AA. Great experience! It's the cheapest way to fly them to the states. Couldn't find it this time around though.

@@theglobalpeasant Yeah. I think the flights to NRT were like $1079. Granted though I bought tickets for this October. Buying ahead of time, particularly for Asia tends to save. I totally could’ve done a 7-800 round trip on Zip Air Tokyo, but I really wanted to experience the great service and with the add ons like baggage and food etc you may as well buy on a better airline. Kudos to you for being a soldier and doing an AA 10+ hour flight for us. Thank you for your service 😊

Why in the world would anybody fly on American, when you would have a 1000% better flight with ANA or JAL airlines. Better food, better service, and definitely better overall flight experience.

All comes down to the almighty dollar. Japanese carriers offer very good service, but it comes at a premium, and neither service YYZ. If I can, I try to get a codeshare w/ AA on JAL. Did it in 2023...good deal!
