Fly Your DJI Mini 4 Pro FPV Style
Ғылым және технология
DJI has made the Motion 3 and Goggles 3 compatible with the Mini 4 Pro. Is there a good combination that creates the optimal flying experience? We tried the Motion 3 and the RC 2 with the Goggles 3 and Mini 4 Pro and have decided that there is definitely a plus to this added compatibility.
To learn how to set up your Mini 4 Pro to fly FPV, and what settings to use for best results, check out the video!

I have both the Avata 2 and M4P, and have fown the M4P with both the RC2 and the Goggles3 and MC3. For exploring while taking video or stills, the googles/RC combo works great for a steady but custom viewpoint. And having the cursor to point where you want the drone to fly and have it do so is very intuitive and nice. However, in high wind conditions, i would recommend staying with the RC2 as it allows more precise control in tricky conditions, plus allowing easier access to the settings menu while in flight. That last part came in handy the other day when having to switch off obstacle avoidance and hand recover the Mini 4 in a confined landing on our oceanfront balcony while on vacation. 😉
Very Cool!
This is awesome. It’s nice to have options to fly.

Agreed!
I can’t wait to try out the goggles
Excellent video. I haven't tried my Mini 4 Pro with the goggles yet as I just #blamethewind but will have to give it a go soon.

Yes, Gerry! 😂 Blame the wind! 👍
I tried this with the Mini 3 Pro and the goggles Integras and Motion 2. But haven't gotten around to trying it with the Mini 4 Pro and the updates goggles and controller. And I to admit it didn't do much for me, I prefer flying the Avata drones with the motion controller, and the Mini drones with the standard stick controllers. Great video, and thanks for sharing Kelly.
I agree, Kelly, it’s fun to fly the mini 4 pro with the goggles. But even though i prefer flying the avata 2 with the mc3, i prefer to fly the mini 4 pro with the rc and goggles
I’ve flown the mp4 a few times with the goggles 3/MC3…different…but I prefer to use the Moverio glasses…still a great view in the specs & you have awareness around you & can easily see the controller…
I preferer the RC2 to control the Mini 4 Pro. Thanks for showing the other features of the drone. I have not tried yet.

Same. At the very end we came to the same conclusion, but it's nice to have an option.
I mostly fly fpv, but using the head tracking was a whole new level of immersion. Like sitting in an airplane cockpit. I wouldn't want to have it on my fpv drones, but it sure is a fun experience for just exploring. It would take a lot of work to film cinematically in a smooth way, but would give some interesting perspective if perfected.

I have an avata 2 and i really wish I could use head tracking for tilting the gimbal when flying in manual mode. I imagine that would be the best of two worlds.

@@jonisacson it would definitely take some getting used too while flying in manual. Seems like it would be difficult to maintain orientation.

@@kurtzFPV just the tilt. With an indicator on the screen. Imagine being able to smoothly and intuitively change the tilt while flying manual. As an option.
Is head tracking mode available in the menu when you have M4 Pro bound to the RC-2?
I recently got a Mini 4 Pro, crashed it 2 days later 😢. About to send it off to DJI to see if they will repair it. I have care refresh, but curious to see if they are willing to do any repair free of charge.
Can you use head Tracking with cruise control?
Nice you don't have to re bind
Great vid , What about flying the avata 2 with RC2 ? With or without Goggles !

Unfortunately, that's not possible, at least currently.
So here is my question - Can I buy the M4P Fly More Combo and the Goggles 3 to then be able to fly my M4P like you did at the end of the video? In other words, can I just buy the goggles 3 themselves and pair them w/ my M4P and be good to go?

Yes, I don't see any problems with that.
Does the M4 Pro have a mechanical camera like the Phantom 4 series on the pro? Thanks

No, unfortunately not.
Also, I still don't understand why I can't use my Goggles 2 and the RC-N2 controller I have. Really seems like it should be an option. Maybe someday they will release an update.

You probably could if you also had the motion controller 2. I was able to fly my mini 3 pro with the rc2 remote, but only after binding the mini and goggles to the motion controller first. Hopefully an update will soon make it possible without doing this first.

@@kurtzFPV yeah, sorry, I forgot to add that part. I don't have a motion controller and I don't ever plan to buy one. Wish I could use what I have 😞

@@Carguyforlife Hopefully soon. I got mine with the Integra goggles. Don't use it much, but it is pretty fun on occasion, especially when introducing someone new to the hobby. I mostly fly normal diy FPV drones, but every once in a while enjoy exploring with the mini.

@@kurtzFPV yeah, I enjoy FPV more, but I like the Mini for aerial photography and some smooth aerial video. I had a Mini 2 for a couple years and just upgraded, the goggle feature was one of the main things that made me go for the 4 Pro rather than the regular 3. I have an O3 air unit which is probably my favorite fpv to fly, analog is fun for less stress when flying freestyle. I mostly use the O3 for more cinematic type flying.

@@Carguyforlife We are a generation apart on our minis. I bought the original mavic mini, then the mini 3 pro. I have two 03 air units also, so I thought the integras would be worth it, and the motion controller was less expensive when buying both at the same time. I would say the view is marginally better and more immersive on my old V2 goggles, but I like the weight and sleekness of the integras, so I have even upgraded my old vistas to work with them. Still use the old V2s with an analog module for whoops and racing though. I put my 03s on quads too small for a gopro- a pavo pico and a 3", and use vistas on all my other (larger) digital quads still. The vistas are plenty good for me flying, and the gopro or my old osmo action give me the higher quality video for saving.
