Fly Yellow Ferrari 308 GTB
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
The Ferrari 308 was the brands biggest seller in the 1970s, and because so many Ferrari 308s were sold, many owners modified their cars over the years making pristine and original cars hard to come by today. This stunning yellow 308 GTB is not only a very original car, but also sports an eye catching shade of yellow. This Ferrari 308 is also a GTB version, unlike most of the 308s sold which were the GTS or targa top. The GTS was a very popular model because of the show Magnum PI with Tom Selleck driving top off, making buyers want that same experience. But today the 308 GTB is a very desirable model because so many less of them were made. Our feature car is not only gorgeous in yellow and very original, but it also drives like a dream, clinking through the gated shifter without any synchro issues and giving the pure carbureted V8 sounds just as it should. Out of the various 308 models made, the carbureted cars sound the best, and produce the most power, making this car a Ferrari lovers dream.

My dream car.
Teacher Really Gooood. "Always Like a roof over My head !" Brilliant entendre 🏆
Yeah, the yellow looks really great; a nice break from the red ones, but frankly, the shape of this car makes any color look good!!

I always think it's interesting when a car can look like a different model year when it's in different colors. There's only certain cars that do that, but it's jarring when you see it.
Looks good in yellow. In the past i didn't like yellow to but it has grown on me.
Such a great looking classic car. I still remember my first vacation in italy when I was around 11 years old and there was this ferrari right next to me on this tiny gas-station in the middle of nowhere. Your Channel is way too underrated in my opinion. Keep up the good Videos. Greetings from Germany
Great video Colleen! I love yellow!
Great presentation. I so agree with everything you said about keeping cars simple and enjoying he art of driving. This is such a beautiful example. I was never a fan of Ferraris as far as the fancy cars go. I always found them so intimidating because anything going wrong would be so expensive. The 308's however seem like the perfect Ferrari. Lots to love without feeling like you're driving a Faberge Egg. You can just enjoy the car without the intimidation. I would like to have heard some ASMR with the carbureted engine and some real driving time. Love their sound.
Love it in yellow!
I'm right there with you in the preference for a manual transmission. 2 of my 3 current vehicles are manual transmission. I don't care if it's city driving or country. Manual transmission for me! Also, newer cars, while great performers, are so refined that they lose the "soul" of a car. I had a 2013 Shelby GT500. Insane car with 662 factory horsepower. But it was almost like driving a Cadillac in some ways with all the gadgets and such. Mine had every option but the glass roof and even with the Performance and the Track packages along with the Recaro seats it was just too much "luxury" for me. I actually got bored with it. I prefer a car to be more raw without all the creature comforts. Keep the great content coming!
Gorgeous car and woman!
I immediately recognized those tires as I've gone through many!! In my experience they offer a period correct look, fill the wheel wells perfectly and get the job done. Where they lack the top speed rating they seem to perform in a fashion the car was designed for!
I got to drive a Metallic Green 328GTS, had like a Chesnut interior with BBS wheels, centers were gold I believe. Verede Scuro I think, was a very dark green. I just love the shape of the 308's and 328's.

That combination is best of the best , it suits that bodyshape perfectly !
I like them in White.
Fly yellow is iconic. Can’t make my mind up on if I like a Berlinetta or not. I need the luxury of the targa for this design. Regardless- thanks for the chassis serial number details. Did not know the Dino did not have a matching number spec. Keep up the content.
Blue is the best color
Love a yellow motor 👍
Being an old farth of 60 years , I really love to hear a young women like you telling the experience of an analoge sportscar ! You are a hundred percent true ! These cars needed drivers that can drive , if you messed they could bite back at you ! The opposite is if you can drive what includes double clutching as well , the reward they give is tremendous !!! I owned an Alfa GTV 2.0 in the 80s , and it was slightly slower to 60 in 7.5 seconds , than the 308GTB , but cornering was even better as I discoverd on Zandvoort circuit in Holland . Mess with them and they will bite , treat them with skill and respect , and they will almost give you an o....m ! ❤️❤️❤️
The yellow is striking, and you look great in it! My daily drivers all have 2 wheels, none are automatics. I would love to see your dogs!
Yeah, the GTB is the way to go!
There is a KZreadr who bought a lovely yellow GTB, hacked it all up with a Sawzall and stuck a Honda motor in it. Don't know if he ever finished but jeeze it was brutal to watch d:-0

Yeah, hes down the street from us. Have not personally met him.
I love your early 308 GTB episodes. This one was great! I would love it if you did a ‘VLOG’ style video in an early 308 GTB similar to one of Sam Seen Through Glass’s videos where he takes his 360 Modena on a fun road trip! Have you seen the Harry’s Garage episode featuring the white vetroresina 308? Hopefully one day I can buy a 308 from Ferraris Online one day 👍🏼👍🏼
Looks nice in yellow/black, I too prefer GTB's not a fan of the squeaky targa tops, I looked after a friends 911SC targa, it used to drive me nuts with the squeaking!! I think the first Ferrari with the "sticky switch" syndrome might have been the 348, I have a 1994 348GTB and luckily the sticky plastic had been sorted before I bought it.......I would still swap for a 308 any day though, especially a carburetor one!! They are just so iconic, the lines never get old!!
My favorite Micro Machine when I was a kid was a yellow 308
I never knew that about the Generator light; but then mine used to go out straight away, about 1 second, without any blipping to wake it up. Oh, and try this: if you're not getting the cold air in your face try pointing the 3 dash-top vents away from you so the air goes up the windscreen in front of you. Then pull down the sun visor just a bit and directs it nicely on your face. Great looking original car; I think giallo looks awesome on 308s and Dinos.
good
Didn’t know there was a Generator. Learned something new! I’ll take a 308 QV in Rosso Corsa/Tan please. I’m traditional, what can I say! 😆
Miles Davis had a 1980 308 GTSi in the same colors.
I get your thing with manuals, I used to drive a '69 GTV, the mechanical feeling is unique. But the race car feeling I get when shifting my Cambiocorsa paddles (with that kick in the back, yes) is also unique. And that Maser believe me, does not drive you. Nevertheless, manual stick in the proper car will always be cool. Especially if it is a Ferrari one. And that yellow is just great, it reminds me of the Integrale.
Drive like a sport, pay like a sport !
Here thanks to Donut, cool videos!

Well , have you ever seen a 330GT in metallic light blue ? I did years ago at a pumpstation , JAWDROPPING ! Or a 250GT Lusso in metallic silver .......... Certain Ferrari models look even better in an other collor than red , as shown by that showstopping yellow .
Great Video as always.. Like to Know what its sells for thanks .. The GTB's are the ones to own !

Oh my God!! Have you watch the lever every time you change the gear??? Jajajaja
Chickens live in coops, two cars are called a coupe (pronounced coup-ey )
Oh the Dino, one of my favourites, especially in yellow. Edit: I apparently mistook the 308 Dino with the 308 GT, look almost the same, the Ferrari is sleeker tho

There were only TWO models formally badged as a 'Dino" at the Factory...and this isn't one of them.

@@anothernrg8274 The 308 Gt/4 was originally badged as a 'Dino', but was Designed by Bertone. The 308 GTB/GTS was designed by Pininfarina. VERY different cars. The Dino GT/4s had back-seats, for instance.
I'm curious, from a Consignment perspective, what the owner thinks is the 'price-point' on this car.
That is god looking and beautiful so sexy design very nice existing sports car 🐎🏁😎👌👍💥🎊🎉~~🎆⚡🚗💨❗❗
I've always disliked convertibles too, and it's honestly not even about safety/security feeling. It's just the look of the car. I've always felt like a convertible was like a "ruined" version of a car, but there's a few where it doesn't bother me as much. Like a Mazda Miata. I like the idea of driving with the top down too, but I also hate it. I think the hard-top convertibles are a lot more bearable. I love Targa tops though. My first car was 1996 Firebird with T-tops. I love these GTB's, and any Ferrari with a transverse-mounted engine.

I'm with you. For me, my biggest exception is the second generation corvette. If not for that split window, I think the convertible has way better lines than the coupe.

@@slchance8839 You know it never occurred to me before now, but I think I might have to agree. In drag racing the 63 body with split windows is the most popular body style for Pro-Mod carbon-fiber bodies. I never cared for 2nd gens before, but I think now it may be the best. I used to think Mustangs were ugly before too, and now I prefer them to Camaros. But yeah the convertible vette does look better than the hardtop.

@@drownthepoor Funny how our tastes change as we see more of the world. I should it would. You might find this as intriguing as i do: If you freeze frame the pod-race in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, I...think Anakin's "pod-racer" is a heavily modied C2 corvette shell. I could be wrong, but it looks sooo much like you can see the hint of the hips and hourglass shape and the front wheel-well overarch. Maybe I'm seeing things. If you're inclidned, check it out and get back to me. .
It's not called "Fly yellow" (what an insult). It's Giallo Modena, the yellow signature color of Modena, where the suburb of Maranello is the location of the Ferrari factory

The lines of the GTB are next level. Originality though - Meh. NFF 3.5 liter + the entire NFF menu of 308 improvements… now that’s the ticket.
Why make a great video about a great car but never let the car talk?

It's such a shame that such a beautiful design as the 308 series had such dismal performance especially the anemic two valve injected cars . I never understood why Ferrari waited until the 328 to give it some grunt ?!
