I’m curious to know if you can cut the eyes in the middle where they are jointed and glued them like a Enrico does. I think that post will penetrate adhere better when goo is placed inside the fibers. I placed an order for those eyes and will be trying it

You can cut them, but they make a different pack of eyes that are singles which are meant to be cut. these eyes i use in the video are easier/simpler to tie with, or if you don’t want to deal with the glue or cautery tool then these eyes are great.

I think the EP fiber lengths and numbers are each color -1 clump full length, 1 clump-1/2 length, 3 clumps 1/3 or 1/4 lengths? What's the purpose of the hard mono? Weed guard?

they are 1/4 lengths for the small pieces, and yes the hard mono is the weed guard

it’s usually random for which fly shops will carry them. these are the attached eyes but you can get the singles and cut them short then use zap goo as well

Nice tie, but won’t the fly ride hook point up with the barbell eyes tied on top of the hook?

The EP eyes used are weightless, so the fly will ride like normal

The eyes are usually clipped from the post and glued on. You also use a cauterizer to melt o hole straight through that fills with glue as well. Learned it from Enrico himself at a trade show years ago and it’s in his videos.
