Fly Fishing Striped Bass on the Flats!!
Спорт
I headed out searching for some striped bass on the fly and after covering a lot of ground with little luck I found some in the end and got into a decent bite of striped bass on the flats. Maybe in my next vid I can catch something bigger!

Nice video Rich! I guess that's fishing for you...sometimes you get them, sometimes you don't. It's all a matter of being at the right place at the right time. :) Thanks for keeping it real!
Great video...good explanations... Tight lines! Frank
Loving the flyfishing videos. I've been having really good luck with a dark olive clouser here on the cape
Keep em coming on the fly rod!
Dud! I love these fly fishing videos! Thank you so much! The schoolies has just arrived here in Norway so we hope to catch a few this weekend. All the best bro, Eivind B.

In Norway you have Striped Bass? Are they the same as European Sea Bass? It is my dream to fly fish Norway one day.

Thanks bro!
Fly fishing for stripers is definitely the way to go!
after you catch that monster 20 rock ! maybe think about a Florida Tarpon trip with that fly rod oh yeah ! thanks man Nice video one of my dream trips is to be where you're at for one of the big Rockfish runs one day I will be able to see it with my own eyes thanks for showing me around gorgeous place man
A stripping basket will really help you out with fly line management.
Well done 👍🏼
Yes there definitely is larger sized streamers. if ur gonna continue to fish with the fly rod u should look into picking up a cheap fly vise n just experiment with making ur own..Ull save urself a bunch of money as well..the material is super cheap to make those.. not sure if u have a fly shop in ur area if not maybe an orvis..they got pretty much everything u need. the flies also.I'm sure u new that already. give it a try.. I typically only fish with a fly for trout. if I had larger size hooks I'd make u some.. largest size I use is #4
you might try the opst single hand Skagit fly line, you could easily cast a bigger sand eel pattern.
great video. as always. thanks
Don't pull line off your reel during the fight. No reason to do that. At best, you'll induce slack. Trust your drag. Get your tip right down on the water during the retrieve. So far, you are doing way good !!
If you would learn to double haul;you could add 20 to 40 feet to your casting.Mavbe be in the zone for those bigger fish which you are hoping to catch.Tight lines!!!!!!!!!
Hey man, love your videos! I fly fish a lot in fresh water but never salt water. I'm running a 5 weight set up. What weight gear do you have? I'm heading to the ocean soon here in New Jersey and I was wondering what you recommend for ocean gear
Marine vet here. Love watching your videos. I just started fishing stripers in RI this year and would love to get out with you sometime if you are open to it.

Thanx for serving! -Frank
What wt and length rod do you use for salt water fly fishing?
Hey Man, Love the videos. Wanted to say that your cast might be a little longer if you "Pop to a stop" as you're finishing your cast. Clearly you're doing well, but you might have longer casts if you didn't follow through with your rod and instead stop it a little sooner.
What rig or fishing method gives you the most keepers/slot/legal size stripers and excludes the most shakers, juveniles and undersized fish? I'm guessing its old fashioned live bait
I fish the Puget Sound here in Washington and it hurts my soul to see you call all these stripers tiny when a good cutthroat over here is around 14 inches, I gotta make my way over there!
Where do you park to fish Napeague?
surf candy. works real good! try bubble gum colors and strip fast some time trigger stripers to strike

David C cool thanks for the tip!
cool vid thanks for sharing. some tips: work on the double haul/less wrist action; wear a hat, sun cancer is no joke and it will help you spot fish better; no need to take those fish out of the water to unhook em, just lip em in the water and pop out the hook
nice video buddy keep it up!!!!
I can pick you up one of those sand eel looking flies that is bigger. Someone at my local tackle shop hand ties those exact style. I have one in chartreuse. If you want I can mail it to you.
What size rod and reel are you using for this?
💯💪👊
What fly reel and rod are you using?
How do you find places like this?
bro switch to a spey rod you will get 3 times the distance and with less energy plus you can change you depth by change the head if you us a skagit line
jeez is it really that easy
Good to see saltwater fly fishing.
What sunglasses are those
How do you deal with that fucking CONSTANT wind?!
