Fly Fishing North Carolina | The Nantahala River | Brook Trout Bonanza
Ойын-сауық
Come along and join us on today's fishing adventure to one of North Carolina's Best Rivers. We manged to come across tons of BROOK TROUT including Dads NEW PB. Although a lot of these fish are stocked, there were also many native brook trout that had washed into this section of the Delayed Harvest from upstream tributaries due to large storm that moved through the area the night before.

What town was this in? My girlfriend is a traveling nurse and we will be leaving North Carolina in August and I was looking for some places to fish for trout before we move again.

August is really tough month, wait until Oct and success rate drastically increases
Put them back in the GD river after you wear them out, dont stand there with them out of the water. Especially that large brook trout. These are not catfish or bass. After wearing them to near death, to hold them out of the water for a lengthy photo op often WILL kill many of them.

The big brook was alot of things but near death wasn't one of them. He sat in the net underwater for over 10 minutes. All that isn't shown in video, notice how quickly he took off upon release, sorry you were offended

Need to shut up when fly fishing, easy to spook brookies!

Yes, I totally agree. We let the excitement of the big brook trout get the best of us.😂

Give me a break, fish feel vibration by the lateral line on their side, never seen a fish spook from sound of someone's voice, approach slowly with your foot steps and shadows and you will catch more fish

I like to make noise when fly fishing just to give the fish a sporting chance, I didn't count the number of fish caught in this video but if these guys were spooking fish by being loud, you might want to give it a try seems to be a successful technique

Its true..Ask any good fly fisherman..If you think its a joke fine, been fishing for over 50 years, old man here...

Old man here also, maybe we can get together sometime and compare notes, my comment was sarcastic but a couple guys out on the river bringing 30 to 40 to the net I am not sure if "shut up" was the best choice of words
