Fly fishing Jordanelle reservoir in Utah 1/1/2024

I decided to go fly fishing at Jordanelle reservoir on New Year's Day after my plans to go ice fishing with my buddy fell through. It was a great weather day, and several other people had the same idea. It ended up being a pretty decent day. I was getting consistent takes under an indicator and stripping in a leech with sink tip line. It was fun way to spend the first day of the year. Thanks for tagging along.

Thats great! I cant believe there is open water there still....way to take advantage of the unseasonably warm day.

Apparently, there's ice now. I guy messaged me he ice fished it 4 days ago.
I'd take more of that weather back! Fun day! Glad you got out and stayed bent.

I drove past it yesterday. It's still 95% open. Deer Creek is ice free as well

Rainbows steady. I talked to guys that have been slaying bows and Kokanee there.

The guys fishing by me were the day before and did quite a bit better then. We were still getting into them that day though. It was fun.
I ice fished it 4 days ago.
