Those Classic Flys are beautiful, but are indeed a handful to get them to perform . Harry has been a wealth of info on the half dozen Classic Fly’s I have done. You’ve iterated his ideas and passion very well. One thing I noted, I’ve had to flatten an number of these chassis (strip the car complete and rest the chassis on your setup block and see where it may be warped), but even with that, stiffening the chassis up a bit with some square brass tubing really helped the car sit tighter on my more technical track. Just something to consider as you continue to enjoy the rebuilds of these beauties!

Hi Jorge, I’ve got two of those 917’s. Mine have brass pinions though, lucky I guess. But the front is the same sloppy independent fly stubs. Fun cars when you sort them out though. Well worth the effort. Looking forward to see your track test.

I have a couple of Fly Slot cars that I got used. I haven't opened them up yet to see what's in store for me... This has me curious...👍🏼

Hey Jorge- You ever experience trouble fitting a Piranha motor? It was a tight fit stretched the pod and made the rear axle bind. Was just a couple mm larger than the stock Fly motor but couldn't make it work.

Hey there! I think you will have to trim the plastic down on the area where the motor sits in to fit it. I would try and file that area down. If you can e mail me some pics that would help me see what is going on.
