Thanks for this amazing video! I have been struggling for the past week trying to find a good nano tank. There's a ton of different styles and I was finding it all a little confusing. I am a very couscous buyer. I had come to find that Fluval was a great brand in both design and filtration. But I was still on the edge because I was concerned about a couple reviews, I really needed an example of how it worked and what it would need to maintain it. So Thank You again! I am a very visual person and your video was exactly the information I was looking for!!

Just purchased this tank last night, wanted to upgrade my son's Betta tank. He has had the same Aqueon 2.5 bowfront Betta tank for the last 8 or 9 years and has a fair amount of scratches on it since it's plastic or plexiglass so it doesn't look as crystal clear as it once did. I put about 1/2 of his water from his old tank in the new Fluval and the other half is fresh water, going to let it run for about 4 or 5 days before I move his Betta to his new home. Love the quality and design of the Fluval Spec. I was initially a little shocked at the price tag, but after watching a few videos I see that it's a great little tank and I can tell it's a substantial upgrade over the old tank. His Betta is about 4 or 5 years old so I'm sure he will be glad to have a new environment to swim around in. Also thinking about adding a couple buddies for him......maybe a Cory catfish and an African Dwarf frog ?? Not sure yet but I'll get the Betta transported over first and go from there. Great video , once I watched it I was sold on the Fluval. Now I'm thinking about getting my own and putting it in my office room at home. Would give me something to look at to relax and de-stress after a long day at work. I love the way you set yours up, live plants are definitely the way to go.

I just recently started a planted 3 gal & started watching your videos as well. I appreciate how you show the whole process and explain everything & especially that you show the tank again a little later. If you're able to answer a little question; I noticed you stocked this tank with more then just a betta. I see tons of conflicting opinions online about how much bio load a small tank can take, from saying nothing should go in a tank under 5 gal to insisting multiple critters can go in a 3 gal ... what's your experience like with stocking small tanks like this? I want to introduce a betta into my tank and a clean-up crew would be great (a couple shrimp?) but I don't want to push it in the face of advice otherwise. My water parameters have been excellent and my filter medium is super grimy with bacteria.

Also Life happened and I have found myself living in a tiny space, I have a beta, 2 mini Cories and 5 white cloud minnows (other then the betta they are all under an inch). just to make life interesting my betta tank died spectacularly. I had no choice but to throw him in with the others. At the moment they are all in a 5 gallon marineland, the fish seem to be getting along but the tank is old, plastic and dyeing. Do you think I should get another 5 gallon and a 1 - 2 gallon for the betta (like before) or should I see if I can get a 6-7 gallon tank. Sadly the foot print of a 10 gallon is to big for the tiny dwelling I live in. Any advice would be appreciated

Ive put the tank on a small shelf so the top of the light is just touching the shelf coz it fits in there exactly, after about 15 mins the metal part of the light was hot so i turned it off coz i was afraid it would over heat. Is that normal for the light to heat up or do i need to relocate the aquarium so there'd be some circulation around it?

Hello I’m wondering how to put in the filter on the back. I just want to make sure I put it in right? I alsooo didn’t use any water conditioner yet to set up my filter media. My box didn’t come with any directions so this is my first shrimp aquarium but I’m just setting up I don’t have any shrimp yet. Can you tell what I can do now to make my media safe or should I just completely get new media etc? The filter is supposed to be on the bottom of the tank correct or what you call the water pump I guess? And the long tube should come up and go through the hole correct? Is the water supposed to be strong that comes out?
@pecktec
4 жыл бұрын
It doesn’t need to be super powerful coming out of there. Definitely use water conditioner every time you put water in. If the media is used go ahead and grave some more and maybe a new sponge if it’s not to expensive. You can see how the pump goes in the video. I have a playlist with all the spec versions and many different setups and maintenance advice.

Thanks for this amazing video! I have been struggling for the past week trying to find a good nano tank. There's a ton of different styles and I was finding it all a little confusing. I am a very couscous buyer. I had come to find that Fluval was a great brand in both design and filtration.

Thank you for this, I found it very helpful .. it looks lovely too

Should the bio ceramic or charcoal ever be replaced in a tank? And how often?
I've been looking for a small tank for my desk , this looks the biz , very informative and this presentation is tipping me towards this 2.6 fluval , love that you can hide the heater out of the way and just leaving what room there is for aquascaping and the fish . Can I ask though , why is there no aeration , I'm used to seeing tanks with lots of bubbles somewhere in there , or is the water flow all there is too it . Thanks .

Hi, cool hobby, can you please provide link for your water filter used in this aquarium.
I just bought the fluval 2.6 as betta fish tank. Everything I have read online said I could only add shrimp or a snail to this tank with the betta. Have you had any issues with the endlers you added? How many did you add? Any other possible tank mates you might try in a tank that size?
I just got a tank like that already set up. But someone forgot to remove the filter items from the bags. Do i need to buy the charcoal later or csn i do without it? No rush in respond and thanks in advance if you do.
I have a 65 gallon aquarium and I use a fluvel 150 watt heater and it should have a 250 to 300 watt but the 150 is working fine. I want to see more of your 55 it looks cool.
nice looking tanks! is the height of the tanks listed on the fluval website factoring in the lights? or is it just the tank size, thanks
Sean, what heater and size do you recommend for this Fluval spec 2.6 gallon? Was thinking of a 25 watt jaeger, thoughts? Thanks Subscribed Grorge
Beautiful nanoscape.
OMG The use of the long tweezers was the way to go. I will get one Fluva but you have not dwell much on its advantages against other brands.
Can I put my swordtail fry in there? Or is the filter bad?
Looks awesome
Hey... Love your videos... Have a question though...

+Lorelle Dias well I wouldn't have thought that would happen. But I guess it needs to breathe a little bit. I've never noticed mine getting much more than warm.

I did not understand what kind of fish are the ones living with the betta. I am currently fishless cycling a 5.3 gal tank for a betta and a substrate snail, but i would really like to add some more life form that could live together. Also, my tank uses a sponge filter, not an internal one.

@pecktec
What plant is that in the 2 gallon?
We're do you find the plants?
How's the Vesuvias sword doing in the Spec? I looked up the plant species and it says it's medium to high light, but isn't the Spec considered low light? I really want this plant now :)
So on my F Edge6G and this tank just replace the carbon packs with bio media after a month? And after hearing you explain am I supposed to clean my bio media or just replace it every 3 months or so? I clean mine I thought it trapped bad bacteria not collected it. I'm slightly stupid.
