FLUSH Mounted INTERIOR Panels In Jon Boat to Bass Boat

I document how I fabricated my flush mounted interior panels inside my jon boat to bass boat conversion. A great mod for those looking to cover the interior sides of the boat and hide the boat ribs and hot metal. Flush carpeted panels provide a clean look as well as added function. I demonstrate the wood framing, how to plywood, tips in measuring and gap spacement, gluing and puttying, sanding, oil based enamel for moisture barrier, carpet, installing foam insulation, as well as final install!

Use wire loom, wires vibrating against aluminum ribs may eventually cause a short. Exceptional work!

Wiring at this stage of build was in rough mock up and not complete yet, therefore not wrapped or protected in loom yet. I will show final wiring in my wiring video.

Do you think the added weight from all the wood has effected youre boats performance or anything ?

Great work. Question: should it rain while you're out or even while towing , do the compartments and contents get wet ? If so , would installing a seal or gasket on bottom side of hatch be bennificial

That might work. Believe it or not, my boat has been in a few monsoons and no water in the hatches. I left tiny gaps on edges of deck and areas for the water to naturally go to to channels in the bottom. The hatches have super tight fitment, it seems the water goes to the least path of resistance. This boat is garage kept so it doesn't get rained on often.

@@AnthonyJonesBrigadeBoats Gotchya! Thanks! Got everything stripped out of the boat and washed it down. Next is to start the sanding process. I'm not much for videos so I am starting to put together a pictorial diary.

I just got a 1958 12ft mirrocraft from the son of the original owner. Super good shape. Getting ready to spruce it up. Been fishing out of a nucanoe kayak all summer.
