In this video I repair my trusty old Fluke 16 Multimeter.
As a technician this has been almost part of my arm for many years. The convenience of a tool that does exactly what you need, it's hard to explain, but little things like Auto Power Off saves you from having a flat battery every time you forget to turn it off. I can’t even remember when I last changed the battery.
I’ve dropped it off the bench, had it in greasy engine bays, measured risky voltages, measured things I could not see without a microscope, used it to diagnose and repair things I thought were done for.
Now it’s dirty and broken…. Let’s make it new again!

My apologies for the audio quality on this video. I'm using a 2010 iMac with an upgraded video card which doesn't adjust the backlight voltage, so it runs a bit hot and the fan noise is messing with my sound recording. Rectifying that problem will be a future video for sure! Do you have a favourite tool you have had for years? Let me know in the comments.

20 years old, still going strong although it seems to have a slight interference problem coming from the leads occasionally if they cross some live wires, but it's not major so haven't looked into it yet.
