Seriously Shivesh,where have you been all my life!? I'm a frequent Baker, and a pretty decent one too, but one thing i could not really replicate was the sponge cake which is used as a base cake by professional bakers. When I saw your recipe, I knew it would give good results, but I wasn't really expecting something extraordinary. Finally, I tried it out today, and oh dear lord.. The cake is stunning! The cake is super soft, tastes delicious and I can't wait to try it out with my favourite frostings! Thanks a lot, Shivesh You are a blessing for so many of us!

I tried this recipe and it turned out amazing. Spongy and soft. I would say it was slightly more greasy than what I would prefer but otherwise it's the easiest and simplest recipie I've come across!

So I made this cake for my mum's bday yesterday and I cannot explain how good it turned out to be. Amazing taste, fluffy texture and the colour on top came out golden brown. Loved this recipe, definitely going to be my go to cake now

I don't think I've ever across an eggless vanilla cake recipe that's soo easy to make. The batter was ready in minutes and the cake was delicious and spongy. Thankyou for giving me the perfect vanilla cake recipe that I'll swear by for life :)

I ve tried baking a few times in this quarantine but everytime was a fail and then I saw his vid where he tells the basic things about baking and I realised I was making so many mistakes. Today I finally tried baking again and I made the vanilla cake but I replaced all purpose flour with whole wheat flour cos I wanted to have it a lil on the healthier side and I can’t believe how soft and fluffy the cake turned out. Also I didn’t use oven so I made it in a nonstick pan and yes it was like the softest cake ever. (I didn’t have the vanilla pod so I skipped it and used just the vanilla essence) I m so happy to know that I can bake good after so many failed attempts

Yeah really! I thought he'll add the orange juice to the cake . If not, he should just hold a cup of coffee (for aesthetics). Atleast take a sip of the juice so we know its for 'personal consumption' :))

Superb.. tried it.. and it's really come out super fluffy and spongy.. preheat cooker for 10 mins and baked in cooker for 45 mins

Hi Shivesh, thanks for this eggless recipe. I tried this recipe with the same quantity of ingredients. The cake came out really spongy. But there is a slight soapy taste in the cake. Can you let us know the probable reason? Moreover, in your recipe you say 1/2 teaspoon baking soda, but the text in the video says 1 teaspoon. What should be the actual quantity?

@@abhinaya1990 make sure that you use a good quality flour and mix the flour well in your batter or untill you don't see any chunks of flour and do not forget to add vanilla extract to your cake because it dosen't have any other flavouring. If you don't add vanilla extract to your VANILLA CAKE, then it is surely going to taste like raw flour!

I made this today.. I have tried many eggless cake recipes but nothing really worked for me. I was really surprised by the texture of the cake..😋😋😋 I substituted walnuts with some pistachios and also added some saffron powder and cardamom powder..

I tried this recipe it came out beautifully

I baked this and it came out really soft and yummy!! I found that the quantity of batter was less so it did not fill an 8 inch round cake tin well and therefore was slightly flat. My egg allergic child was super happy with this tasty cake though! This is a keeper. Thanks so much Shivesh 😍

Softened. Mix it with sugar until light and fluffy. It'll give more aeration to your cake.

Mixing chunks of walnuts is the best idea ever. My dad loved the crunchy texture of the cake.

Hi Nupur! Since we're already using yogurt in this recipe which contains fat, we need to use only vegetable oil to get the desired consistency of the batter and good texture of the cake!

Hi Shivesh I tried this recipe out ,the cake had perfect fluff to it but it came out like the color of the mixture pale to white instead of the beautiful golden brown color you had. I made it in microwave, can anyone please help me out where I went wrong?

It depends on oven actually, many ovens don't give that brown crusting, u can try to turn to grill for few minutes to get the browning

Tried this today and it came out amazingly well !!! So simple to bake thanks so much Shivesh for making it easy for us ! Also just for reference of any others I baked it in a microwave on the microwave +convection mode- 140 degrees preheat for 3 mins and then put the cake in the same mode for 5-6 minutes at 140 degrees.
