Floyd Mayweather Rare Training Footage From 2003

Спорт

Look back at this rare training footage of #floydmayweather from 2003. Holding the mitts was his uncle and head trainer, Roger Mayweather.
Next Up for Top Rank Boxing, WBC/WBO/IBF light heavyweight king Artur Beterbiev now has a date to defend his crown. After recent dental surgery forced Beterbiev to postpone his Aug. 19 title defense against former world champion Callum Smith, the two will now meet Saturday, Jan. 13 at Videotron Centre in Quebec City, Canada.
Beterbiev vs Smith and the co-feature will be televised live on ESPN. Undercard action will stream exclusively in the U.S. on ESPN+.

It wouldn't be far-fetched to call Floyd Mayweather a savant. People often make fun about the way he talks or his difficulties reading, but if you're obsessing over a discipline to the point of gaining super human abilities, it's impossible to be a well-rounded human being. It's the cost of being exceptional at one thing. He's a legitimate genius.

Love him or Hate him but you cannot take away this mans work ethic, pedigree and the guys he's beaten. Regardless of how you feel of when he should have fought them, he still did. His chin has been tested, he's had a couple of fights where he had to dig deep and he showed superior boxing acumen every time. I think it's time we give this man his flowers. Very few fighters now are taking the risks he did. Sure he kept his 0, but look at the amount of world champions and hall of famers he stepped in the ring with to do it. Sold the most PPV's, became the biggest name in boxing and transcended outside of the sport on an international level, beaten the most world champions, won titles in 5 weight classes, the only fighter to have Pacquiao, Canelo, Cotto and De La Hoya on his resume, retired with all of his brain senses still intact. Now with the Pacquiao thing... it's time we let it go. Floyd is two years OLDER than Manny plus Manny still went on to beat younger prime fighters like Adrien Broner and Keith Thurman during the next three years and at the age of 40.. so that theory is debunked. He also started from just being a prospect, training in rinky dink gym to remodeling it and it's now a famous gym. I'm saying all of this to say this... You may not like him, but you have the respect him. He did boxing the right way. The other boxers who talk down on him I guarantee they would switches places or wish they were him at the drop of a dime. Also, RIP Roger Mayweather. He was the best I've ever seen on the pads.

Interesting because these two encompass the whole slick, black fighter stereotype. I think Haney is a lot more comparable to Pretty Boy Floyd era, although he just lacks punching power. Shakur is a lot closer to Money era Floyd, but can be way more defensive than he needs to be and that's a concern especially this early in his career. He needs to switch it up a bit and make things exciting in the ring. He doesn't want to end up with a Rigondeaux-type career.

Floyd Jr is one of the worst human beings there is outside of max security prisons, but by God he's a hell of a boxer. It redeems him not at all, but you gotta give him his flowers on that front.

That is COMPLETE Nonsense.....Floyd Jr. makes this Display ....& to be Harshly honest cause I've lived/studied in the 60s,70s,80s,90s til now...I can assure you that Floyd Senior has more to do with jr's success than Uncle Rodger(who often lazily relied in his career off a nullifier kayo punch). Floyd jr's balletic ring skills are derived genetically from his father..who was a Willow the wisp kind of defensive fighter.
