Flower Tea | Herbal Tea | Spring Garden Tea

This is the best time of year to gather all sorts of herbs and flowers for tea storage: mint, rose petals, chamomile, mint, and bee balm are at the top of my list.

Our favourite daily tea is made of elderberry blossoms with fresh lemon juice and honey. It is so fragrant and so very tasty tea! It is fine hot, but we love it cold, along the day. Greetings from Romania, Europe. You are awesome and everything that you do is just great!

Oh I loved this👏👏👏 I’ve been doing this for the last two years. Like you, I thought there was some mysterious special thing I had to do😅 but now I make tissane or herbal bends from my garden all the time. I often gift them to friends & family at Christmas time. My favorites are Linden flowers (I have two huge trees). I’m also loving lemon balm as well as hyssop. In the fall I gather gobs of rosehips...they’re so good for you! Anyway...thanks for sharing😊

The flowers and leaves look so pretty collected into your basket! That first plant you stopped at, you called it bee balm, and normally I've only heard that for a couple of species of Monarda, but the plant in the video looks like Centaurea, probably Centaurea montana, mountain cornflower or sometimes called bachelor's buttons (it is a cousin the fuller flowers more commonly known as bachelor's buttons). I have never heard it called bee balm, but common names are slippery like that, so I wondered if it was a regional name for this flower. Oddly, people over here say honeysuckle when we mean columbine - it is the strangest thing but very widespread! I grew up saying it, too. So much fun to see these spring blooms and remember it won't be long.

Hi Shaye! I planted what you put in your tea this year in my garden. I am totally happy. I drink the tea nearly nightly and it is just magical. It really seems to deepen my sleep and refreshes me. Super cool. I didn't get a chamomile harvest but I have blossoms stored. I haven't added that to my tea as yet. Thx for the blessing of the video, the harvest and the direct affect it has had on my life!

Oh that is a dream for us: cottage garden! We have plenty of spaces both front and back. However, it's the back that we would have the treasured herbs and edible flowers. In front is pretty, scented and for high desert life, heat tolerant. We do not plan on staying here as I told hubby I want someplace with green.

hello shaye, love your videos, thank you! just wanted to ask/ comment about the “bee balm” you mentioned. i have the same plant in my garden and i believe it’s centaurea montana and i don’t think it’s edible. i think what’s more often called bee balm is in the mint family- monarda. not 100% sure but aim always interested to learn more about plants, so i thought i’d share. i love drying chamomile and mint and lavender for tea too to bring a bit of spring into winter for a relaxing mug before bed 💛. also love to add dried elder flowers to this mix!

You have so much loveliness in your house and yard and I know it's very intentional, but there MUST be areas that are less lovely, right?
