Thank you for your floss organization system!! I’m trying to find one that works for me and yours sounds perfect!! I love that you make your own tags and how beautiful your floss looks on the wall!!! I’m a fan!! Organization does not come easy for me so when I see how someone sets an idea up I rejoice!! I love the organized look but do not know how to always achieve it. Also I’m a very visual person and can’t stand to hide my fabric tools and floss away… this is how I get doubles or triples of things! Thanks again for sharing!

Your explanation of your floss storage was superb. And a SUPER way to reduce costs in the long run. Right now I have been putting whole skeins in with every project and I have a hard time substituting colors because I have no idea what I have. This will take much time to convert to a system like yours, but I am going to make a plan on how to get there! Thank you so much for taking the time to share in such depth. I have tagged this video for future reference!

Thank you so much for showing us your storage! I have DMC floss that I stored years ago. It was cut like you cut yours, but stored differently. I have recently gotten back into cross stich and the floss storage is a disaster! I was trying to find a way to make it better. I have ordered the supplies and can't wait to get mine organized! Thanks again!

Thank you for showing your floss organization. While I won't change over at this point, it was great to see you pull what you need for a project and make your own floss cards! I have been searching unsuccessfully to see how people manage their floss for all their ongoing WIP's! So this was great info. I've been crossstitching 45 years and just completed my DMC Collection last year. Too many of my new charts call for fancy floss and when I realized the expense, I decided I was going to have to work with what I have! I have several WIP''s and was trying to figure out how to track what I'd previously pulled. So thank you for your invaluable input!

I do mine this way also. It’s like a piece of art hanging on the wall. As my collection grows I will probably sort by color, it’s by name now as I don’t have much. Thank you for sharing how you keep it all organized. And I never thought to do DMC the same way! I see a project in my future 😉

What do you think about using a split ring binder clip (100 for $8) as a floss drop for DMC and put them on a steel cable loop in numerical order? Then you can insert a new color without having to shift each color down one. And, it takes up much less storage space. You can use packing tape to secure the number on the ring or buy electric cable labeling tags to write the number on.

Thank you for your video. You've made some good progress on your WIPS. I've been pulling out WIPS and working on them, but also starting lots. I'm kind of all over the place, but it's fun, so I'm good with it! I do almost the exact same thing with my overdyed floss. I just have each color group on binder clips, then on a giant binder clip. I do like the way you have them on that system in a row though. I also only have half the amount of overdyed than have, though! I still like the bobbins for my DMC. When I buy a new skein, I divide it up on 3 bobbins. That way I always have a bobbin with the color I need. Over the years, I've ended up with 8 of some of the colors. But that's good I have lots of WIPS! Always enjoy my visit with you Jeri! Take care and happy stitching!

Thanks for the organization tips. I use an Excel spreadsheet too. It's great when I need to search to see if I have a color. I haven't done the groupings by color; only alpha by company. Still need to convert my DMC floss.

I enjoyed your storage solution. I've been debating about switching to storing my floss on rings but I didn't have a good vision of how to keep track of where to find them. I was debating between keeping brands together and sorting alphabetically by name, or by color. Your ring numbering makes it so easy! And I already keep my floss inventory in a spreadsheet so adding a column for the ring number would be relatively easy.

I like storage my DMC threads on drawers but I like the drop solution too. It's a dilemma for me. If I use drop solution it will be difficult to wrap thread around DMC cards after my work. And I don't want hanging threads on wall. It's complicated to choose...

Great video...especially your floss organization. I would not be able to do that as my house gets sooo dusty. We live on off a dirt road in the mountains and I should dust every day. I don't, and I think my floss would 'collect' a lot of that dust. Great idea though!

I just watched and really enjoyed your floss organization video. I’ve ordered some supplies on Amazon and expect them next Wednesday and will be organizing my floss stash. I watched the episode also that you had with black bird’s autumn bouquet and what a beautiful chart that is. I can’t find it anywhere online or in any of the local stores. I Have a few questions.
