You could call it escalator stitch as escalators go up and down 😁

I’m going to try your method Here’s how I do mine. I do mine 20 inch squares and I do cross country diagonal stitching. I keep track by parking my threads the way you do on Pattern Keeper. I park my thread in the left lower hand corner. Less confusing that way. Thanks for your tutorial videos. They help me out a lot!!! Happy Stitching and Happy Holidays!!!!

Always good to try new styles. Thank you for demonstrating. I do something similar for those checkerboard ish areas you get for shading in haeds like in the sky but I prefer to park underneath rather than work back up. I feel it helps coverage too.

This is a great idea. I have a monochromatic silhouette project I’m going to try this on.

Interesting method. I’ll have to try that out. I have found that threading the ballpoint needles using the method of folding the thread over the needle and pushing the folded thread through the eye works well. Boss daughter (on a Handworkmaniac video) demonstrated this method. I didn’t succed using this method until I relaxed the thread a little while pushing it through. Thank you for another great video!

This is interesting. I stitch on the diagonal and color complete in a 10 by 10 with parking.

To me the area you stitched before changing to the new technique looks more even.

Have you noticed more thread usage doing it that way? Your method eliminates having to change direction of stitch or pull on the stitches.
