Florida Everglades Fishing. Best Spot on Tamiami Trail?

Спорт

I found a great spot to go fishing on the Tamiami trail in the Florida everglades. You don't have to worry about cars hitting you here and the fishing is pretty good. I show you what bait to use and how to rig it up.

Unfortunately the lodging options are terrible now. This trip $120 got you a really nice new hotel. Then everyone started moving down there and motel 7s are that price. When I went last we for $140 we got a motel 6 that was so sketchy. I am not planning on going back for a while now. There are still a lot of fish on my bucket list down there but I think I will save them for when I retire.

Great video my Man! I always say safety first, it’s awesome that you caught multi species, I just found that I being wrong about the name of that catfish, when I catch one I always say it’s a channel catfish, now I know it’s a white bullhead, next time I catch one of those I’ll give you a shout out and I’m gonna start naming them right. :) don’t worry loss some win some

Thank-you. I get the names wrong all the time. I wouldn't rely on me. You have to count the rays in the anal fin to tell. But look at the tail and if it has a deep fork then it is a channel catfish.

What other species do you catch from that area, from what you caught I am interested in Tilapia, Jaguar, Peacock, Oscar, just want to have some fun at the end of Jan if anything is biting that time of year, that would be great, just having fun in between my Python hunting and deep sea fishing, shark teeth findings, and have to see the Gharials and Komodos in Tampa, just so much planned now, it was really just Pythons, then I added Sailfish, Sword fish, Cobia, Barracuda and Bull Hammerhead and Tiger sharks, hoped for Mahi Mahi, and Goliaths but told they wouldn't bite well, just a great vacation planned during the deep freeze here. I'm a fisherman but I have been crazy about the Python hunting, want to see how its done from one of the best people on the Swamp People show, he will show me whats what or I will show him, I know what I am doing and never grabbed one. Any help to save some time would be awesome, I won't have much and obviously almost everything will be released, I am not taking anything back on the plane just Python skins. Just want a few Tilapia and Oscar to eat. Catfish would be great tasting too, would like to see if there is a difference between it and a channel by taste. Caught all 3 in Tennessee's river. Blue, Channel, Flathead. All were too big but I would not complain. Just release.

January can be tough but I am heading that way at the end as well. Mostly to hit the keys but also some Miami fishing. A cold front can really shut the bite down. But you should get peacocks all along the trail. Lots of oscars around this spot. I only hooked one jaguar and that was downtown. Florida gar are cool too. I only got the one tilapia here but I'm sure there are lots. We didn't spend much time here but caught a lot of fish. Good luck on your trip.

A word of advice but not to insult anyone who already knows this. the fins that stick out the sides of a catfish head have a hidden spike in them that can really mess you up. It is like a sharp nail with and they say they have a little venom in them that really makes the wound hurt.
