Sorry man but you made a lot of mistakes in this video. 88 river call, 96 shove, QQ 3bet flop and 44 flat pre and call flop.

Sadly, I must agree. I'm also not sure wtf was going on with the KK, or what the 26 beats when the guy shoves the river. I guess he's chopping maybe half the time? Seems like a fold

I was in a lot of tough situations. I definitely made some mistakes. The 88 I maybe could have gotten away from on the river but I don't think that's very bad at all to be honest. The opponent was bluffing a lot, which is something that a viewer wouldn't necessarily be aware of. Also, there were other situations in the tournament, particularly on Day 2 in which I called in similar spots and was right so I think you're being a little results oriented. The 96 shove is a bluff and I have to shove any two there since I'm short and can't go another orbit without getting it all in or I'd likely be in a position I wouldn't be able to recover from. Also there were no pay jumps for a very long time. It was way more important to increase my chip stack by either getting a fold or taking a shot at doubling up than it is to wait and hope for a better opportunity to come up. If I had gotten knocked out then I would've been totally fine with it. The QQ 3-bet flop was bad and I said in the video that it was the biggest mistake I made all tournament. The 44 flat pre I don't love. I was losing around 1-5% of my stack every hand before cards were even dealt so I needed to get involved at some point before getting blinded and anted to death. I really don't know what is best in that hand. I wouldn't have hated a fold or even a shove there actually. The flop call is probably a mistake but I was getting around 3.5:1 on a call and could've doubled up if I hit one of my 6 outs. Based on how the opponent had been playing, I thought there was a good chance he'd check back turn and I'd see a river for free. If I was able to see it for free then calling would've been by far the correct play. A big reason I do these videos is to show mistakes. I don't play anywhere close to perfect. Hopefully by watching these videos people can learn from the things I do whether they are good or bad.

Brad, just to give you friendly advice: I am cash game player so I can't speak from tournament dynamics as much, just from cash perspective. 88 is a snap call, especially vs. player type. I don't mind making small bet on turn to protect equity / blocker bet and then check back river, I don't think he ever check raises the spot or leads river. A good percentage of the time he has TT-QQ though, but will still get you to showdown cheaper vs. those hands. 96o is way way way too loose a shove with 10+ bigs, I think 96s and t9o are borderline shoves. I don't even play tournaments but know people have to be insanely overfolding for this to be profitable. I'm sure you study push/fold charts as tournament guy so maybe you know something i dont, but i snap muck. QQ learning from mistakes is key to poker, kudos 44 I think it is jam>fold>flat but maybe fold is best, but I think call is definitely worst option You didn't comment on it above but the KK hand when you open UTG vs button call on 642 flop, I think you overestimate how much his range is going to connect with the flop. I gave you 12% open range and him 14% call range (you can change assumptions if you want) and your range has 55% equity (66+,A9s+,A5s-A4s,KTs+,QTs+,JTs,T9s,98s,87s,76s,AQo+,KQo vs TT-22,AQs-A5s,K9s+,QTs+,JTs,T9s,98s,87s,76s,65s,AQo-ATo,KJo+). Essentially your range is kind of similiar but he should have more sets (I assume you arent opening 22 and probably not 44) but you have more JJ-AA. I think standard line would be to bet 25% pot here, but I prefer having both bets and checks and would bet around 2/3 pot. I think AA i lean to checking with and KK I would bet pretty frequently to avoid the A on the turn. And one big piece of advice I'll give you is especially if you're moving up stakes and playing good regs in live cash games (I assume this is similiar in higher buy-in tournaments as well) is that you can't play your hands so faceup. Vibes is able to make an amazing read against you because he knows you aren't capable of 3 bet bluffing in that spot especially when you are playing bigger than you normally play. Same thing with the QQ hand here, you are definitely unbalanced. I would advise you to never have a 3 betting range on flop and only 3 bet turns when OOP (unless it is min raise), it adds such little EV to have a 3 betting range and you are not balancing it enough that any good reg is going to overfold vs. you like crazy. Don't be afraid of turns that kill action, you are protecting your range and most people who raise flop are going to barrel turn at such a high frequency anyway. Otherwise you are just so exploitable. And similiar point, I know you show highlights so maybe these hands just don't make the video, but especially when you play deeper, you are 3 betting / 4 betting way too much value in general, I can exploitavely fold a hand like 99 to your 3 bets since they're way too nutted. Anyway, against fish keep playing face up, but I recommend you start playing some spots a little tricker / more balanced vs. regs. Really appreciate your modesty and hard work and good luck at the tables.
Sick run Brad! Thank you for being real in your vlogs. Showing and even explaining times you think you made mistakes have been really helpful. Glad you were able to cash in a tournament this summer.
Love your dry humor Brad. Keep it up, im a fan.
Couple years late, but this vlog is helping me cope with poker withdrawal. Thank you very much. :)

Hahaha I agree. We will be to present day soon but to be honest I like having a lot of footage stocked up. The only problem is that it's clearly dated when it is about WSOP stuff. The good news is that it's all cash game videos for a long time.
Great video and I like that you show the correct decisions you make along with the bad ones. Best of luck!
Not going to question any plays you make bud. You play pretty damn good poker 95% of the time.
Awesome to see another poker player who also shreds the guitar 🤘🏻
Congrats Brad! Good result. 👊

Nice work in the tourney. Hope to play with you and neeme someday!
You get bloody I gain knowledge. I grew up playing but never had a damn accountant in the game. :)
You played the 8-8 and A-Q hands like a cash game (which cannot be done if you're going to preserve chips). The rest of your lines were solid, though. Great video!
Nice run and good result.
Good playing!!
Its the shoes PF FLYERS! Where did your brother get them? Super video Brad! Brad, on your trip to Austin come on down to Houston and have a meet up game at Post Oak Poker Club ... will be a winner!

Brad there is a big action 5-5nl optional button straddle no cap buy in game at Sandia casino in Albuquerque New Mexico. It goes almost every day and I think it would be a good place for a meet up game.
Ilove the part where you 3bet QQ when you should call and you juxtapose that with 3betting nut flush on the flop when you should just call. Great video!!! Everyone makes mistakes, it's great to see those hands in the video!!!!!
Bro, it’s like you’re on tour! Host a game in LA and I’ll come through!
I liked this for the shoes
PF Flyers! Nice!
Very nice run sir!
I love ur videos
I also wear PF Flyers. You stylin bro.
Love the PF Flyers, guaranteed to make a kid run faster and jump higher. If they worked for Benny “The Jet” Rodriguez, they’ll work for Brad “The Jiggities” Owen.
Hi Brad, I have been playing recreationally gor years. Mostly online when it was legal to do so. I am now retired and am contemplating playing again. I really enjoy your vlog and think you do a great job by keeping it simple, funny and yet informative especially for novice players such as myself. Keep up the gteat work and good luck. I reside in Central Florida. If and when you come to Florida, how can I find out? Would really like to meet you for have the opportunity to play at the same table with you. God Bless and keep up the good work!
You forgot to take your aggressor pill this morning. It seems like you let a lot of those guys off easy when you had the steering wheel of the hand. I saw several calls that could have been shoves which would have 1) resulted in a fold; 2) given you a nice pot with no heart palpitations, and; 3) driven your opponents to further desperation, you forget that the blinds are going up for them, too.
That wave tho :)
♠♥♣♦Ive seen you so many times get greedy when you have the nuts and you push and chase someone off instead of flatting and getting paid!! It does work sometimes but not doing it will get you paid more in the long run! LOVE YOUR VIDS MAN!!!! THEY ARE THE BEST OUT THERE!!!!!!♠♥♣♦

Can't wait for the Hideaway MUG. I'm gonna 4 bet bluff you so be ready.
I like the fold with KK btw
Sucks, wish you would’ve let go of those pocket 8’s and AQ hands when you had such a big stack, oh well, enjoyed the video and you will always be my favorite poker pro

I wish I could have folded them too :/ Thanks man!
I hate checking on the river with the nuts. Sometimes it’s just the right play though.
What are some good books to read? and what are the best kind of tables are good for beginners?
@bradowen when you coming back to hard rock in Tampa?
reckless play with 88...hugs bro
I’ll be there on the 7th, it’s like 15 minutes from my house. Will there be a sign up or do we just show up?
How about flop open ended straight flush draw and missing it?
You checked the nut flush on the river in a tournament - did they change the rule that allows you to check the nuts? don’t you have to bet it? or is that only if you’re last to act?
What tournament was this? Looks like it was at the Rio though
Good work b.Rad! I hope one day you win a big tourney like that and win a cat.

Haha, that'd be cool
Nice run Brad. All it takes is ONE crushing hand to end your tournament. What are the skills needed to manage your resources, on a timetable that exponentially increases exposure and risk, while surviving in an environment where everyone involved, is actively, (sometimes aggressively), seeking to take your resources, and end your existence?
So how much did you end up cashing for out of the 7 events?
pf flyers - guaranteed to make you run better XD
I'm folding river for sure on that AQ hand .. especially with two callers on turn.. the 88 hand I prob call too

Seems fair
What do you use to record your sessions?
When brad fucking pauses the video to justify his action it means the video resumes with a fuck up
Do you really use upswing poker to study and would you recommend it?
If you guys like getting check raised with top set, how about when you floptop set and you watch your opponent measure your stack, divide by 3, and proceeded to bet your stack in progressively over the flop, turn, and all in on the river. He had AQ, he was so proud of top/top. He never let me raise, just forced all my chips in, from drawing dead.
Denver ay! See you soon...

First! Keep up the good work Bradley.
Awesome. I was unaware one can make their own video at the WSOP. Most casinos will ban you when caught and the WSOP use to make you sign a contract that you are prohibited from doing so, but if your name is Brad Owen the WSOP will turn a blind eye to you. WSOP, we love you.
I haven't had aces in God knows how long!
start to the summer? how late are these uploads, summers nearly over

This is from two months ago. I was busy with WSOP, had to recover from a surgery, and have been busy traveling a little. I'd like to get them out earlier. From this point on I hope I'm able to.
PF Flyers? Looks like a "SandLot" Spoof!
You're coming to Denver? Will you sign my Favorable hat? That's you, right?
7:06 I felt this seemed to be the mistake hand. His play was so agressive that he definately had pocket pairs in his range, and they felt at the higher end as he might not have done it with 77s. Obviously need to know more about the player, and would have been a difficult fold to make on the River, but you can fold and be positive EV overall. 88s maybe near the top of your range, but fold is still an option. Great vid though really interesting.
