    you can also use railing with custom top profile, this will give you lengths for scheduling . but sweep does it better than railing/ mass curtain profile, when joining it recognizes random degrees cuts... just that it doesn't show lengths. any way of showing length of sweep in schedule?

    Hi. Referring to this tutor, I'm trying to load a family cornice profile instead drawing one. For some reason, I can't control it's scale, also it's difficult to move it and rotate using the rotation tool which I need to specify a rotation point. Is there a solution for this problem please? Regards

    Hi, Can you do a tutorial on ceiling with multiple height on same Room. How do I fill the gap produced by it

  • @JacobBanman

    @JacobBanman

    2 жыл бұрын

    In cases like this where I have done multiple ceiling heights, I just duplicate an interior wall and delete every layer except the drywall since the builder will fasten the drywall to the end of the roof trusses in that area. Because it is a wall, you can join in to any roofs or ceilings and fill in those gaps

    Hi, thanks for this video, I have a questions. I model rooms more than one is there any way to create a family to use as wall tool at the bottom or any way to create it easily for rooms that more than one room ? OK I done it just for one room but the other rooms If we're modeling an apartment. Thnks a lot !

  • @JacobBanman

    @JacobBanman

    2 жыл бұрын

    Yes, a couple ways... create a profile family that attaches to model lines on any walls you want to have it on; you can adjust the model line locations for different elevations if needed. You could also do a wall based family and have a similar effect

  • @JacobBanman
    @JacobBanman2 жыл бұрын

    @0:10... overlooked? Not Really, crown moulding specifically is not really in fashion anymore. I love it personally but you really don't see it much anymore in 90% of builds because it is added cost @1:40... works but you can also make a profile family to use similar to fascia board (place a model line on your wall, cabinet ect and there ya go.... easier to adjust the height this way too) or you can make it a wall/face based family

    @@receptayyipeniser370 You need to do it in two pieces (or more if you have more than 2 doors) because sketches in Revit can never be disconnected. To make it easier you can draw and save your trim profile as a profile family and just load it on your sweep path instead of drawing it every time, but you might also be able to copy it (ctrl+c/ctrl+v). Cheers!

    Model in place is for that room only maybe cos if you were sweeping it you'd have to duplicate walls and every time you use that wall it will have a profile on it, this gives you more scope to put different profiles in different rooms. That's not the only reason but its one......:-)

  • @mcaddc

    @mcaddc

    6 жыл бұрын

    I asked the same question. The process would be done *much* quicker by adding wall sweeps via a saved profile. This is a very convoluted way of doing it. Especially when you have many rooms to consider. I usually have wall types with embedded wall sweep profiles. That way, the sweeps are drawn as I'm drawing the walls. Downside to this though, is that the visibility graphics won't allow you to turn off the sweeps in plan views. This is a huge bug in Revit that hasn't been resolved yet. The only way to control wall sweep visibility is via manually creating the wall sweeps after the walls are modeled. As a work around, I adjust the view range to be higher than the bottom wall molding / skirting. I have to do similar for the ceiling molding / cornice. The settings are there inside the Visibility Graphics settings to turn off wall sweeps, but it doesn't work within embedded wall sweep profiles. Pity, because you have other Architectural BIM software systems life "Chief Architect" that manage these issues so much better. But as always, it is great to see the different workflows that others follow. There's always some useful reminders or better ways of doing things.
