Floor Jansen, born on 21 February 1981 in Goirle, Netherlands, is a renowned Dutch singer and songwriter with a versatile range of musical talents. She currently holds the esteemed position of the third lead vocalist in the Finnish symphonic metal sensation, Nightwish.
Jansen's journey in the world of music began with her membership in the symphonic metal ensemble, After Forever. She took on the role of lead vocalist in 1997, joining the band at the remarkably young age of 16. She continued to mesmerize audiences with her powerful vocals until the band disbanded in 2009. Following the dissolution of After Forever, Jansen embarked on her own musical path by forming the band ReVamp, with whom she released two albums.
In 2012, the symphonic metal giants, Nightwish, faced a significant change as their lead vocalist, Anette Olzon, departed. This led to the introduction of Floor Jansen as a temporary touring member during their Imaginaerum World Tour. Her extraordinary talents left an indelible mark on Nightwish, and in 2013, it was officially declared that she would be their permanent lead vocalist. In light of this pivotal development, Jansen made the difficult decision to disband ReVamp to devote her full attention to Nightwish.
Beyond her Nightwish endeavors, Floor Jansen expanded her musical horizons in 2018 by collaborating with Jørn Viggo Lofstad, the guitarist from Pagan's Mind, to create the dynamic hard rock duo known as Northward.

Floor is my Favorite Female Singer..and I've heard them All.
Before being on Beste Zangers TV show in 2019, Floor was mostly only known in her country by people in the symphonic metal circles....... Not any more!! She should be a household name as the best vocalist on the planet! Goddess!

Floor is most famous in South America than in her own country and i know it cause i live in The Netherlands, i speak to Dutch people about her and they don't even know who is she.

@F1rstWorldNomaD , First you have to define some terms and compare apples to apples. First, well known by who is really important to define.... Symphonic metal heads or as a nearly household name? Floor was in 2 very successful symphonic metal bands before nightwish, and yet she was barely known in her country beyond people that listen to that genre, until her appearance on Beste Zangers in 2019... Get it? That is a fact, and if you don't believe it, she's even eluded to it herself, as well as the other Dutch pop performers on that show with her said as much, .... afterwards that "they'll know her now!" You used Ryan Seacrest as a comparison...... not a valid one. Seacrest because of American Idol, and being plastered all over network tv, WAS a household name.
She should be huge in the States, I don't get it.

Barely anyone in the states ever heard of Nightwish or any other european metal from the 90s cuz your country had an insane nepotism problem on the music scene, particularly in metal. Only american and american adjacent metal got any air time or promotion. You all know Iron Maiden, ACDC, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath etc... All from the UK except ACDC who are Australian. Countries the US has a close family type relationship with. Others were pretty much shut out. Nightwish formed 1996, peak around 00, Internet was still in its infancy for private citizens and somewhere in the mid 00s it finally grew large enough with torrents, file sharing, KZread etc, that the gate keepers could no longer hold anyone out. At this point Nightwish had already built their fanbase and did their thing. Everyone who needed to know already knew. But no one outside the states ever figured out to tell americans about this amazing band cuz we didbt know you had been in a bubble this whole time. The one positive with this is that with the internet reigning supreem, americans are now finding NW. And we, the rest of the world, get to see you lose your collective $h¡t. Just like we all did once, a long long time ago.

@@MetalPersonJ your bands are screamers with their main talent being LOUD! Check out bands with some technical precision, along the lines of RUSH & Nightwish. Not to mention the song writing.There is some real talent in these bands, but.....to each his own.

Well, that was a news. You almost never heard Floor singing in radio in Finland, but you are able to heard Tarja singing and sometimes Anette. Finns are not keen of the Floor, we like Nightwish and Nightwish is the same as Tuomas Holopainen.
Floor solo or Nightwish?
You would think South America and Japan because they sell out big stadiums. I wish North America would be on that list, I've had enough of that crap we got here. You hear that "Swiftly's?"

They sell out basically wherever they go so its a kind of an unpredictable metric. If the arena is bigger it houses more poeple, doesnt mean there wasnt as much interest in e.g Finland, just that more people couldnt fit into the building.

hahaha what nonsense, for the creator, these types of videos are made for pop "singers", who last a very short time in stardom. Floor Jansen and a short list of real singers are on another level, so they don't need this, peace.
