After coming across the first flooded creek, we turned around to make our exit out of this area and had to cross this one to get to a safer area and sit it out for a couple of hours until the creek levels had dropped. We were prepared to camp for an extended time and had the neccesary supplies to sit it out for a week or more if we needed to.
If the rain didn't recede and we were trapped for a long period , I'd have jumped on the Sat phone and let the local coppers know we were waiting it out and were safe.
