Coached by Bob Kersee, Joyner made her Olympic debut in 1984, at the Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles. There, she won a silver medal for the 200-meter run and became known for her world-record speed, form-fitting bodysuits and six-inch fingernails.

She was definitely ahead of her time, she would fit in to this time line very well, cannot believe shes been gone for almost 24 years, that's tragically young, RIP.

She never failed a drug test and enhancement drug use was never proven the only drugs found in her body when she was autopsied were Acetametaphine and Benadryl. I wish the haters would respect her legacy and her family. She was a beautiful woman and a great athlete.

We lost her so young, great athlete. When someone comes from poverty and wants to strive there is a drive beyond compare. She looked so much like a Barbie doll, absolutely gorgeous and so gifted.

She was SO beautiful. Her death was tragically too soon and very sad. She had so much more to offer.

Flo was GORGEOUS! One of the iconic faces of the 80’s/90’s. The nails, the fashion, the smile. Loved her!

She was such a pretty lady. She did her own unique outfits & her nails we’re way ahead everyone. I don’t care for crazy long nails like that but, it suited her. She was so so special! There will NEVER be another one like her EVER. She was a legend! Period!

As an ex track athlete I’m 49 years old I was able to train and compete with some great athletes in my day. I don’t believe flo jo was ever on any PED’s. She was definitely a once in a lifetime talent and she’s greatly appreciated and missed ! Rest in Power Queen Flo Jo the best female to ever touch the track 🙌🏾🙌🏾

I had the pleasure of seeing her run in the Pan Am games in the 1980’s. To see her run in person was amazing! Her technique was strategic. She was so beautiful and she brought so much excitement to track field with her fashion and athleticism. This was a great segmentation of her life. I learned a lot!

Whenever a person works hard and over achieves the normal record; doubters quickly suspect cheating when it's years of practice and hard work. She tested drug free in life; allow her to remain drug free even in death.

No one can deny she had an iconic stride! She was a beauty to watch! No matter if she did or did not the fact that she chose to take care of her family and give up track and then went back and competed and again went back to work and come back to track is amazing in itself! Records and wins aside!
