I liked both but I have to say I absolutely love how the vase turned out. Funny enough, when you started, I thought the lamp was going to be my favourite. Well done! I would love to see you do more items like this once and awhile. I adore the furniture, but seeing how to do. Accessories to is a nice addition.

Love the vases. I have a shiny reddish vase that I’ve painted twice and moved with me to my new house. It’s a great vase and I love its shape and versatility. Of course, it needs a redo to fit in. I’m going to try your spackle technique so I can use it here. I’m avoiding the landfill and saving on my decorating budget. I have to wait until spring as I don’t have any indoor space to do this-Wisconsin winter.

Katie, what a great video. The concrete vase really drew my attention. Now I’m taking a second look at the plastic mannequin I found in a dumpster behind a woman’s clothing store, brought it home, decoupaged it, and hung it up in my home office. Now I’m wondering how it would look concrete-ized?! Thanks for reminding us how looking at life through an eye of possibilities is exciting and wondrous. ♥️

That cornstarch is magical. What a great thing to do to break up a mass of a single colour. I’m trying to wrap my head around these new design ideas. They look very nice, I like the lamp more than the vase. So glad you’re showing us how to use paint on other stuff. By the way, my husband made a beautiful open cabinet for my china and other stuff. He stained the outside to match our dining table, and the inside to mimic blonde wood. We found a mirror at our local Salvation Army thrift store that was the perfect size. I wish I could share a photo of it with you, alas. Take my word, it came out beautiful!

Hi Athena 👋 I hope my comment didn't sound as a form of privacy invasion your comment tells of a wonderful woman with a beautiful heart which led me to comment I don't normally write in the comment section but I think you deserve this complement. If you don’t mind can we be friends? Thanks God bless you….🌹🌹🌹🌹

I personally wouldn't mind seeing more small projects like these ones, in between big furniture ones. I loved the vase and lamp, will definitely try to make either one at some point!

I love the DIY's. I prefer this technique so much more than the baking soda and paint technique. I have to try this one.

Love the lamp & urn. I’ve been using cinnamon for a rust effect and it works better than any thing I have found. I’ll have to try this technique on some of my garden urns and boxes. Spring is coming!
