Can't get enough of your vids. Wish I had a bigger group of guys who were more interested in hitting the woods and fields with me where I am in N.S Canada, but I tend to go out alone like my grandad did in his day. I learned to hunt a bit from him but mostly by myself trial and error but these days I'm glad I can check in with some like minded folks and see how they do things. Keep up the great vids and always love seeing the old rifles you get your hand on. Cheers.

I don't know if the laws have changed or not. I haven't lived in PA for many many years. But your hunting video made me a little homesick. I used to do my deer hunting in Bedford county.

John looks like an aspiring country singer with that Stetson on! John's song;"My flintlock won't spark this mornin'...... My powder won't even burn... The frizzen ain't a sizzlin'... "Dang! That sounds good! Think I missed my calling.

John, always a blast to watch your hunting videos. I always look forward to new ones each time I log on YT. Great stuff! The thing I like the most is the way you carry yourself as a hunter and a human being. You give hunters a good name from what I can see. You have respect for the animal by ensuring that you go about killing them in a humane way, and to track them down as soon as you can to harvest them correctly. There's plenty of other things I'd like to say but I'm limited by YT. =)

@Bench4Eva When you hunt in 5C I think you are talking about a regular firearms season for doe. During that, you have to wear orange. But if you are hunting flintlock or archery (late season) then no orange is required.

I mean no disrespect but are you sure that gun is made CVA and not traditions firearms? I went to CVA to look and they didn't have it, but traditions had 10 models-one of which is identical to yours.

It is so hard to get it on tape but at least you got it before the end of the season. Hunting in the snow is my favorite. What do you do to keep your powder dry when it is snowing? Peace, Reese

you can either put a piece of leather over the flint to keep it dry but I mostly keep watch by carrying the lock under my arm so snow and rain doesnt get on it. Its very hard to keep try either way when its snowing hard

I miss PA winters, but not the strange PA hunting seasons. Only state I've ever lived in where you can only take one deer in a season.

100 grains in a gun that size is too large of a load...im guessing thats maybe a 26" barrel? a barrel that size will only burn maybe 80 grains of powder...anything else is just getting blown out the end of the gun. Try shooting it w/ fresh snow sometime, id be willing to bet that you'd see a bunch of powder in the snow after a shot
