Or do what I did. I unbounded the axis controls of the Saitek Yoke in P3D, I threw my Saitek Yoke into a drawer and closed it just enough so the chord could fit out of it and plugged it into my PC. Works completely fine and you'd never know it was there. That's what I'm going to be doing in the meantime until the throttle comes.

Not thought about that! I have yoke & throttles pre ordered since early July so I’m hoping I’ll still be alive to use them-if they ever turn up! Sounds like my old yoke will need to sit somewhere in the meantime-yuk. Thanks for the heads up.

for those of us handy with a soldering iron, I wonder if it's possible to put a USB male plug on the cable? I am sure someone said to be wary as the wiring inside is not standard, i.e. the colours don't necessarily mate up with the standard USB 2 wiring colours? hmm just a thought!

Hi Christopher, if you get it to work, let us know and we'll do a post on it!

I will have a wait for the Honeycomb Charlie rudder pedals so I was looking for a temporary solution, without buying a set of rudder pedals now (way overpriced and will gather dust as soon as Charlies are out) - I saw the Flight Velocity trim wheel and wondered - could it be configured to control rudder - I know it wouldn't have centering capabilities automatically but I am thinking, it would be used at least like a rudder trim (in aircraft that have it) and maybe even rudder - do you have any idea if this might work out. I have the Honeycomb Alpha yoke (and soon will have the Bravo delivered) but the buttons for rudder are too abrupt - 0 to 100 to 0 in one forward and backward click - would love some incremental rudder input but unsure if my idea, about Flight Velocity's trim wheel as a substitute, is viable.

We've never tried our trim wheel in that configuration, however, nothing would prevent you from assigning it to control the rudder. We just don't think that it would be reactive enough to perform that function as it was designed as a secondary rather than a primary flight control.

@@FlightVelocity thanks for insight. Did finally get the Bravo throttle and I assigned the commercial flaps axis to rudder axis and eased up on the sensitivity and it worked fantastic. Was going to try your trim wheel if this didn't work but it seems to do what I need in until I can get the rudder pedals. Thanks so much for the quick response and will keep eye on your products and how to incorporate into my system as future developments come along.

but can't you leave it attached to original yoke and stash the old yoke behind your panel. Just bind whatever is appropriate. That is what I am doing with my rj45 connected rudder. Just leave it attached to the old thrustmaster throttle and stash the throttle behind the panel, and just bind the rudder/brakes?

That can be done if you have the space and inclination.

Will I be able to just buy a usb cable and plug one side of the usb into the throttle and another side into the PC?

Not sure we follow, but there is no way the throttle quadrant will work directly plugged into the PC, even with a USB to PS/2 adapter or cable. The throttle quadrant doesn't "speak" PS/2.

where can i buy that usb plug for the old quadrant control

  • @FlightVelocity

Not sure we understand the question, but there is no adapter that will make the old throttle quadrant work with a PC. You'll need to purchase the USB version of the throttle quadrant instead. See flightvelocity.com/collections/flight-simulator-flight-controls/products/logitech-saitek-flight-throttle-quadrant Hope that helps!

Hi! I'm about to buy the yoke from honeycomb and the throttle from saitek. my pc has that round connection behind it but it still won't work?

  • @FlightVelocity

Hey Federico, correct. If you plug the throttle quadrant into that plug on the PC or a USB to PS/2 adapter it simply will not work. The quadrant will only work when plugged into the Logitech yoke.
