The lyrics incorporate interviews with school kids that were recorded before they wrote the track.

April 2024 here: 1. This song is now timeless! 2. Jesus, Those kids are now out of high school! 3. Please come back and save music! And some more kids!
I also love how Jemaine gets her to agree that Bret's songs were derivative. That little girl is adorably precocious.

"I wanted to turn into a bubble" Magnificent kid logic.
I love when Jemaine cracks up at the notion of the people giving them money, and then they give some back, but not as much.

Years on, I just don’t understand how this hasn’t made it to a million and a hundred and ten and twenty one likes. It’s just pure comedic genius from start to finish and I still sing the song to with my kids every so often.

Aw man, I've got tears in my eyes. The innocence of the bairns, Jemaine then Brett cracking up? Ah, fantastic. I burst out laughing. Still got a big grin on my face. Essentially, "We should have more babies, harvest their teeth, then extort the Tooth Fairy for all the money. A million, plus a hundred, plus ten, and then twenty one". Solid business structure right there 😂😂

Nope, nothing scripted... You have NO IDEA how unscripted everything the Conchords do is... They are probably the most talented people I have ever worked with in any area. The Video crew from Special Problems did an AMAZING job shooting a very fun recording session...
I love how Jemaine breaks character and just falls apart at the "feta cheese" bit.

It's the craziest financial system that I've ever seen...

They were really great with the kids, super chill and nice.
Jemaine cracking up is the best thing about this video XD

I love how Murray's just tracing his hand before the phone rings
Still my favorite song of all time
Brooke Fraser is probably my favorite female singer ! So cool seeing her in this
Absolutely BRILLIANT in every aspect....from concept to performance. My favourite spot is where the big, somewhat rough looking rapper dude sings in a gruff voice "We all just want to be bubbles". Well done....everyone....I must have watched this video a dozen times today.

Wow…that was moving, inspiring, and totally unexpected. I thought it would be funny but it was actually very touching and beautiful.
How has this gone unrecommended in my KZread playlist for TEN FREAKING YEARS?!! I may be a little late to the game, but this was hilarious.
9 years later I still laugh and almost tear up at this sweet video ❤️
HAHA! Brett really struggles to hold it together with the kids, I'm cracking up!
That moment when you post a question on youtube asking why they don't say "pound" instead of "dollar" in a video full of people from New Zealand.......... so glad there's a "delete" button.
This is my go-to clip for when I need to feel joy
I always come back to see Brett and Jamaine trying to hold in their laughter
Okay. This is incredible!!!! Wow what a song, made up by all these kids and talent!!
I think everyone everywhere can agree that this is the best charity single ever made.
This song just never gets old
Love this video and always seem to come back to it...this is how you do a charity song. It’s both a joke and extremely sincere; brilliant.
Bret's face when the girl brought up the Muppet movie! Too cute!
