Flight of a 1939 Bucker Bestmann

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

This flight took place at Kermit Weeks "Fantasy of Flight" facility in Polk County, Fl - near Orlando. The Bücker Bestmann was used by the German Luftwaffe during the Second World War as a flight trainer. It is believed to be only one of two aircraft still flying.
Unfortunately "Fantasy of Flight" is currently closed to the public.

I think this is one of two flying with the original Engine! There are a couple with opposed engines that were build in Egypt as copies of the German Original. The Egyptians usually had theirs in yellow paint and they were named "Goumhouria"; several of them are still around and being flown. Thanks for posting and regards from Alaska! P.S. The Fantasy of Flight has been re-opened in the same location...

The Bucker Bestman is still available in an RC model by ESM. It is good to keep models of the plane flying, to keep alive the knowledge of WWII and the flying history of that time.

I had 350 hours on this type in Egypt back in 1977 under the name of Gomhuria and I think they still manufacturing that model for military training.

I believe the other plane like this is in England with the Shuttleworth Collection, and I think it was used in the movie- The Great Escape where James Garner and Donald Pleasence steal it and try to fly it to Switzerland.
