Flight Medic "Candy Pouch"

Providing life saving care in the back of a cramped airframe can be a logistical nightmare. Many flight EMS providers such as medics and nurses choose to carry a small pouch on them that holds miscellaneous pieces of equipment that help them function more efficiently in stressful situations. This video is a look at what I carry on me in my “candy pouch”

When I started in EMS around 10 years ago, I carried a bunch of stuff. Pretty much has dropped to a pen and a pocket knife... Starting Paramedic now (going from AEMT to medic), so maybe going back up in terms of what I carry in the future. I like this idea of a pouch, quick and easy.

Hey Sam, did you know that those 10mL preload/flushes aren't accurate and calibrated? I believe my service uses the same preloads, and the ml markings on the side is just a sticker, where as an accurate 10ml syringe would have it written on the syringe itself. Therefore, you could potentially have dosage errors for diluting medications. Just something to consider, I used to dilute meds in the preloads, until I found out they weren't accurate.

I suspect someone introduced that cric kit with the term "boujee" or "bougie," and you applied it to that specific instance. I would like to draw your attention to the general or widely accepted definition from the streets....dog....(well, from a google search and common usage at least): Boujee is hip-hop slang for something "luxurious in lifestyle yet humble in character," influenced by and often interchanged with the slang bougie. An abbreviation of the French "bourgeois." A critical term used to describe people, things, and places that are definitively high-class. Something that is affected, inauthentic, gentrified, exclusive, and/or otherwise sheltered from the dirt and grime of the real world.
