Flexible Monitor Mount Part 2 - Simulation, Flexible Assemblies, and More - SOLIDWORKS Live Design

Ғылым және технология

In this episode, picked up where we left off in ( • Monitor Arm Wall Mount... ) the first stream, we'll start off with FEA tips anyone can use to get going with analysis (Simulation). Brian’s 4 Golden Rules for Simulation:
1. Everything is an assumption: physics, material properties, geometry, boundary conditions, connectors (stiffness);
2. Pre-Processing is 90% of YOUR time: element types, CAD simplification, contact choices and set up;
3. Meshing and Solver convergence: run sensitivity studies on your Results, especially with respect to mesh size. i.e. use incremental refining to see when stress stops changing significantly;
4. Fix (Restrain) “one level out” from area of interest: see Rule #1.
We also covered flexible assemblies (mates, configurations, alternate position views). Three key ways to Mate:
1. CTRL+select multiple entities, then use IN Context pop up toolbar
2. ALT+drag entities together
3. Try “Multi-Mate” mode in the Mates PropertyManager to link multiple components to a common reference (rotational axes perhaps?)

    Great video and awesome tips Mr. Brian Zias Buenos días, me gustas papas frías Bigote de la cabra Es Cameron Díaz! I'd like to learn more about commercial product designing. Especially designs such as a car chassis where there seem to be millions of small slots and dents and bumps integrated into the design. Would love to know what the thought process is behind complex designs with thousands of components! Perhaps, a brief discussion on a preexisting complex design would be great!
