instant 3d is great thing... didn't know you can switch a cut to a boss with it - my question would be, how would i do that without instant-3D? because for whatever reason, some instant-3D interaction just crash Solidworks for me (like about 10 times today it crashed when i tried to drag a reference plane of a component in an assembly with instant-3D)
Michael Lord has probably forgotten more about SOLIDWORKS than most folks will ever know. I don't know how he keeps TRAKKA all these usefil tips and tricks! 👍🤣👍
Had the same thought...
Hey l remember you who create the Kaiju monster, isn’t?
Hi….we are currently working on 3dx for our projects…but we are importing n numbers of projects data from CATIA v5 to 3dx.but we faced material errror while importing the model into 3dx.do you have solution for this issue?
A Amazing Tutorial ❤❤❤
Is it not interesting that about a week ago, for what ever reason the open recent files in the menu disappeared and I was forced to find this short cut ... I have appreciated it ease ever since. As for the other tips he shared, I really appreciate it because though I might have used it in my past 9 years of using SOLIDWORKS, I almost never remember to use them. Thank you Joe.
I just purchased Solidworks for makers and your videos do not match anything that is on my screen. Your videos must be for a previous version of Solidworks Connected. I can do a sketch but there is no extrude command or any of the other things you show in your video. The new version is completely different than what you show.

Eric knows his stuff
Great tip. Thank you!
Very cool.
Great information as always Eric :)
Я восхищён 😊
thank you! how to centreline all of them before assy created?
Quick question why don't you all try to grow your pumpkin in a form to shape them like a tank shell?
I am unable to select the facets to decimate geometry. May I know why?
I have 3 yrs experience with regular Solidworks Student and Solidworks for Makers is garbage. It took 3 days just to get started, and constantly lags.
3d Experience is shockingly bad. How to improve it. 1. Get rid of EVERYTHING nobody wants all that unnecessary crap with insanely difficult user interface , we just need the vault. 2 Create pdm in a cloud, get rid of bookmarks and enable a vault view like windows. 3. Observe people actually want to use the platform.
Are you fucking kidding me? No offense but I'm busy and I don't have 37 minutes for this. I just wanna know what's coming.
I laughed at 1.34. as if SolidWorks could work correctly with such a chain of connections in the cable laying model))). This promotional video probably took a month to make))
it is so difficult for me to distinguish that needs needs a revolve
That's great, is there a tutorial to build this assembly and analyse? 🙏🙏
Hi there! Let us see if we can direct you to a good resource! If you're looking for SOLIDWORKS learning resources, one of the best places to go is MySolidWorks - There are lessons here, some are free while others only open up if you are on subscription, and you can search through all of our content. Check them out here: my.solidworks.com/mylearning Our KZread channel also has a lot of great learning content: kzread.info There are many tutorials in the software itself, from basic to advanced: www.solidworks.com/sw/resources/solidworks-tutorials.htm Our Tech blog is a great resource as well: blogs.solidworks.com/tech/
8:52 Which one is the "Open Loop <1>"?
Why are there SO many bugs in your program? Are the team leads all weak-minded? Is there anyone on the team with an IQ above 50???

I love solid workes🎉
Your number 1 subscriber for sure!
Great tips Joe!
I have to admit, Im the one spending time shuffling through folders searching for the drawing file. Because of following process in my company, the drawings are named as part number.SLDDRW, but you dont know what part it is, so parts are named differently - part number_part name.SLDPRT. Unfortunately, SW cannot work with that, so opening the drawing from model doesnt work anymore. I know you can change displayed name in the model tree, but that doesnt work well for me, sometimes the setting reverts, sometimes shows incorrect properties, etc. So nice feature, but because of not being good enough and other feature broken, makes it nice but useless feature in the end.
Спасибо, Жорик! 👍
Anything that Joe Lance shares is solid gold! This man has probably forgotten more about SOLIDWORKS than most folks will ever learn in two lifetimes! GO JOE!! 👍😀👍❌💯
I need to than one for my golf score!
why is the video not up to date with the website layout?
Hi there! A great place to start for direct support would be our SWX User Forum: solidworks.com/UserForum or go.3ds.com/swforum
@@solidworks Not helpful but thanks. Why not keep the Video up to Date with the Layout of the Website?

@@solidworks that's nice! Why is it, that?
Really wish this video could be redone where it correctly shows the feature tree. Very frustrating when you can't actually see what's happening and can't figure out what you're doing wrong.
Not sure why, but at 3:24 I tried to drag and drop and Solidworks tells me I cannot drag it.

I got you, "The Shutter speed" concept during animation explained very well. 😅
Fix bugs in solidworks it literally crashed 2 times within 5 min this morning lmao
Is it a bug or what you’re trying to do?
Wow 😍
Well done
7:54 why cant we use move face/transate/up to surface when we have zero thickness geometry

I find it more elegant to revolve the entire cone. This allows me to do the center bore in the same operation. I then negative extrude the empty space between two branches and circular pattern the negative space instead of the branch itself. This also allows me to draw the 22mm radius in the sketch and removes one fillet operation from the tree. The biggest downside to this method is that the cbore hole is not part of the circular pattern, but it still results in a more compact tree.
I hope to be part of your team
Great tips, Matt!
When I extrude cut nothing gets cut?
